spectrum will become famous soon enough
from Mike's Myspace blog:

[03.04.06] Vancouver. Whoa.
Current mood: ecstatic

When you go into a show as the opener, which I have been doing a lot in the past year or so, the turnout of the event is not really up to you. You're just there to add your special twist to the night, and hopefully kick start everyone's energy for the headliner. Now as the headliner, things are a lot different. Last week in Vancouver at Richards on Richards was my first headlining show outside of the United States. Spectrum Events had been promoting the show for weeks, which included a schedule change. I had no idea what the turnout would be like. Being an optimist, I just felt like everything would be okay...but...When I arrived, it started to rain. That's not a good thing. Okay, so then I started to worry a little. Luckily a few friends showed up, including Maker from Glue, so I was able to chill backstage and take my mind off things. People kept opening the door to my dressing room, so I was able to hear what was going on onstage. I poked my head out to see Skratch Bastid and No Luck Club and...what do ya know, the place was PACKED!!!!

I cannot explain how it felt to step on stage and see a room full of beautiful people who decided to spend their night enjoying what I enjoy doing. It was amazing. Thankfully everything went super smooth on stage, no technical difficulties and I didn't do something stupid like shout out the wrong city. Whew! The projections were dope as well, so everyone got to see my visual shenanegans in full. Next time we'll figure out a way to accomodate everyone, I apologize to everyone who got turned away at the door. This is definitely a show that I won't forget...ever. I can't wait to get back!

I spent the next night in Whistler. Such an awesome resort, it's a shame I never have time to do the snowboarding thing. Garfinkel's was poppin' as usual, Frontline Events always comes through with the dopest posters. This last one made me look like a superhero. Yeah, I know it's hard to believe.
