I wasnt gonna say shit but I have been asked by a bunch of people to throw in my 2 cents...

1) Reid Speed was asked to play a full a set of speed garage in order to be booked, which she agreed to in the beginnning. Yes, josh can spaz very easily, but she made a deal. oh and reid speed, if you wanna be professional about something, maybe going on a rave forum and posting everything might not look so good. You have a contract and agent, let mihai deal with it, not you on here.

2) all the headliners that did play, got paid in full.

3) this is definitely not a cash grab, and anyone in this business would easily know that.

4) Josh is a straight up guy, yes can be very excitable but has always come through, just like AGROdave said.

5) the guy who posted as the montreal promoter, you must be kidding me...too funny...what the fuck do you know about vancouver, or the promoter, go promo your bunk ass shit.

6) i still cant believe this thread is about Reid Speed ... that is the funniest thing, maybe if it was about Morillo or Sanchez I could understand

7) by the way this kind of thing happens in every city around the world...this is the rave scene people... its a bunch of fucked up shit...

perhaps you missed the part where she played her alloted time (1 hour) of all speed garage and due to a combination of broken equipment and lack of dj to relieve her, she made the choice to play dnb instead of just turning off the music.

Then again, had it been me, I would have just played my dnb on 33 rpm :)

I'm not claiming to know anything about Vancouver, nor did I in my post. However you clearly havn't asked the promoter if he payed a deposit, or got a work permit. Cuz he did neither. He isn't even DISPUTING those facts.

I got her friend tellin me o its just how they are in NY o really are they ok here u go take ur cash fuck that nobody in this bizness would ever fucking pay anyone who did this to you and you all know it but I did end up giving her half wich I should not have done 2 hrs later we finally catch the boy she got to do it and find out the real truth the boy desides that he does not want to get arested so tells me and I just kik him out.

For some fucked up reson reid thought I wasent going to pay her so she tells this kid watch me go talk to this guy if he walks away from me without giving me cash then jump him for me so ther you go hope ur all happy and have fun telling me what really happend k.


As for the rest of the show I thought it was our best year by far A few things were wrong I should have had a few more cans but I thought that would be enuf for our ticket count ok my bad I just was wrong and I did fuck up getting 3 headliners I just strait up waited to long to get flights then I couldent my bad as well, as for way out west calgary canceld on us and we couldent do just one show we will be having him out again and u an get in free with ur ticked stub.


Yes things went wrong with this show when dont they I did my very best to give you An amazing night I really dont think u know how hard a show like this is to do really over all that show was amazing the sound visuals were so out of control iv never seen popkum look so dam good and most of the headliners were ther(who all got paid) so to say that this was a rip of or anything else but a good time is bs everyone that night including peeps bashing on this said it was dope and they loved it this was by far our best show yet and I cant wait till next year see u all ther :)




O ya and best shit of the night Capital j so had that croud in his hands Malente was ill for sure David and Rigatony were super good autobots killed dabbler was good demo man thank god I got to see that part Czech,Deliverance with hirsh and oliv was dope o shit dig dug too:)the phat conductor is super cool to to bad was on so early mat as allways forsure ill esha in the morn was good just what i needed :) and of course reid fucking ill sick SG set def had me going the whole time!!!! thanks again everone I hope u all had fun I know I did :) o fuck and how can forget Pacific with Myster E with no tent? now that was funny hehe

im not getting into this, but spending most of my life in montreal, and some time in vancouver, i know montreal has had a much rave crap happen as anywhere else... atleast in vancouver people arent being shot over it.

actually, to be fair, apparently (in BC at least) work permits are not necessary for outdoor events (and only outdoor events). I just found tha out the other day.

a question that kept coming up over and over in this thread is 'why be a prick and come out and bitch about this situation in public'. well, isnt the answer so obvious ?? your clients need to know the truth. if josh had sat down for 5-10 minutes, wrote up a few paragraphs explaining what had happened in a mature way and released his statement, a lot of hurt feelings could have been spared

I know for a fact that work permits are not needed for all ages events where there's no liquor being sold, indoor or outdoor. Maybe this is the rule you're thinking of.

actually, all legal raves are exempt from work pemits technically. foreign workers have a the full list or bars and venues that need work permits.

Ticket sales are going up for shows due to so many competitive promotors trying to set the highest bid to bring DJs, then the Djs are not getting paid, thus giving our city a bad name to return to, and there is always an excuse as to why we are not getting paid, and the Local artists who supply these "services" and "entertainment" keep allowing this to continue.

There were many other problems that occurred on Saturday Night, fights, Scenes, Egos and Drama.

Could we please just get back to the point where we as artists have taken time to invest into our craft, whether it be DJing, MCing, Production, Sound Engineering, etc.. and it is completly unprofessional of all of us to allow ourselves to be taken advantage of.

Time to Stand Up.

100% agreed with the sound and lighting/visuals. SPL Sound out of Kelowna did an absolutely astounding job in their production of the show. Sound was loud, extremely crisp and deep.

Probably one of the best sounding parties I've ever attended! (For the main stages at least, Renegade stages weren't nearly as perfect)

Everything Reid Speed has said is 100% true.
I was there for every second.
I picked her up from the airport.
I drove her to her gig made sure she got there on time.
(got there on time even with the wrong directions on the flyer)

Yes she did play speed garage I heard it. The whole crowd heard it. She then turned to dnb for three records at the end of her set so there wouldn't be silence when the CD player didn't work. Josh shows up when the DnB
is playing (which I thought was perfect timing because breaks was just starting on the DnB stage - Capital J just got off and Autobots started their set) Josh was obviously upset that she was playing DnB, but instead of pulling Reid aside and asking her "what's the deal" like a real person. Josh screams at her. Forces her to shut off her music so then there is now silence at his party. He kicks her off the stage and says "your are not getting paid". He then puts a DJ on the decks who I have never seen or heard of before in my life who then proceeds to trainwrek every single track and clears the dancefloor.

As far as I'm concerned, (coming from someone who witnessed every single conversation between her and Josh) he took the first excuse to get out of paying her thinking that he could get away with it. I really don't think he had any intention of paying her, otherwise he would have done so when she asked for her money at the gate.

After all this shit went down with him screaming at her. Forcing her off the stage. Refusing to pay her. Then again confronting her screaming at her more putting his finger in her face screaming at her again telling her she isn't getting paid. A guy came out and he put Josh in a headlock and then they fell to the ground. No punches or kicks were thrown. After a few minutes, the guy let Josh go. Josh ran away. Josh then gets his four security guys to kick Reid out forcefully. Four guys on a 5 foot 2 - 105 pound girl.

While Reid was outside the gate. I was inside the gate with Kristine (Josh's girlfriend) trying to get the money out of Josh for TWO HOURS. While Josh is calling me a fucken bitch telling security to kick me out of the party. I told him I wasn't leaving until Reid gets her money.
Josh was making no sense whatsoever.
He was telling me (well yelling at me) that if Reid would tell him the name of the guy who put him in a headlock then Reid will get paid. I was like WHAT??? Reid doesn't know him. How can she know him. She's not from here. I was like, Josh just think about what you are saying. And all he could say was "Do you think I'm stupid???, I'm from Abbotsford!!!" And I was like WHAT??? No I just think you are overreacting and you need to deal with this situation and PAY YOUR HEADLINER!!!
He then kept screaming at me calling me all sorts of lovely names dismissing my existence.
By the way...this is how Josh treats the person who got his headliner to the party. Made sure she arrived from the airport safe and to the party on time. I got no gas money. No thankyou. Just "get the FUCK OUT bitch!!" That's professionalism.

Finally somebody was able to talk some sense into Josh and was able to get some money from him for Reid. He went out to Reid and paid her less than half her money. Saying that she should be happy and "lesson learned"

I am just telling it how I saw it. I was there from start to finish.

At any point and time all Josh had to do was pay his talent.

As for Josh paying all of his headliners in full. I know FOR A FACT from the horses mouth that he shortchanged at least two -- well three including Reid.


TO JOSH.
Reid was telling the truth. She doesn't know the dude who put you in a headlock. She had nothing to do with you getting in the headlock and you know it. You found him later on and "got your revenge".
So pay up Josh. Give her the rest of her money.
Do the right thing.
