You can not do whatever you please. You are working with professionals here (international dj's) and they are human beings. You can't treat people like shit no matter who you are OR think you are!

You can request and book them for certain things but if you give them shotty equipment and have no one around the stage for assistance; then what the hell are they suppose to do?
Do you people honestly think Reid was in the wrong? Do you have any morals or common sense?

As a promoter; it is your profession. There are guidelines that you must not see or understand
1) Positive networking
2) don't screw people over; you never know when you are going to need someones help.

If you knew me; I totally hide from confrontation unless I really have to or it is in self defence. Look at all the shit Silverwaters crew and Avana and Silverwinged have pulled towards me. What I said what not offensive so please don't take it that way. You know I have nothing at all against you.

Yes, they can put another dj up if they arn't happy but they can not yell in their face; etc.
They do have the right to call shots but not how he did. And a promoter CAN NOT do ANYTHING they want at thier party. Party = work to a promoter.
There are many people's reputations, feelings, concerns, ideas you have to take into consideration; mainly the crowd. That is what you are there for as an event coordinator; the crowd.
Also, in a contract you have with a dj and their agent, it states time slots, equipment and much more that is agreed apon by the promoter and the agency. Also, they say the dj requires certain treatment under all circumstances.
You can not go ahead and change that; so it comes down to; no a promoter can not do whatever they want at their party.
I was getting at morals, respect, common sense which a lot of promoters seem to forget about at thier own parties because they feel high and mighty; in power. It is pretty pathetic that people easily forget that they are working with human beings; equals and not a lower species.

most of the time a promoter is under contract, and has to specify the slot times before even signing it. so YES you are wrong in saying that a promoter can end their set early. i mean.. they can walk up to the decks, and try to kick them off, and if the dj lets them, then it'll happen, but they would be breaking the contract to do so.

I don't know too much ABSOLUTE truth about this situation just as most people posting on this thread.

All I know is the dealings I have had with Josh and Kristine and they have been nothing but Solid people which is more than I can say about a lot of the peeps I have delt with in this industry. For people that don't Know them or have never delt with them to quickly point the finger is something quite frequently seen.

Everyone I have spoken too about the Party (not the drama) has had nothing but good things to say about it and for what I saw it was packed.

Not to say that there weren't things that should have been done differently but I just think that it's easy to point the finger when it's somebody else.

Just want to clarify my earlier statement about karma.

Josh and Kristine worked REALLY hard to throw this show as best they could, and in my humble opinion, I think it was a little much to keep ultra organized by 2 people. It's when you lack enough people to handle an event this size that people get stressed an misunderstandings happen and sometimes get blown out of proportion or escalate(ie reid speed sitch).

The fact of the matter is that Reid Speed may have felt wronged, and all I was saying is that this whole thread is just making the support for her more solid here. I meant not for Josh to take it personally. It's just a fact.

I personally had a really good time at this party and thought the sound/setup of the main stages was pretty incredible. All the djs I saw rocked it, and everyone I was with had a blast.

Sorry for the misunderstanding Josh/Kristine, I think that other than this drama it was a really fun party and I hope you guys can reconcile this whole nasty misunderstanding with Reid.
