As with anything else kids it's about moderation. If you can't control it then don't do it.... pretty simple.
There are plenty of people out there who do 'insert drug here' once every 6 months and carry on just fine. If you can't do that and you have an addictive personality then best leave it all alone. I love how people blame the drug when they should be blaming themselves and their total lack of control. People have been doing illicit substances for as long as there have been people! |

^Who said anything about that drug specifically?
Did the stuff jump up your nose on it's own? It's a choice... and if you can't control when to make that choice or not it's your own fault. Thing is that I'm not an addict... so if I wanted to do whatever on any given night I could but I can easily make the choice to walk away from it and not bother. Other people aren't that strong I suppose. I still maintain that the blame should be placed on the user and not the drug. Just my opinion is all and I'm entitled to have it. |

"Coke killed my father...and raped my mother." Seriously Cdn_Brdr made a good point. Do it or don't do it. If you have an addictive personality then stay the hell away from it. I have no problem with anyone who does it recreationally. Its just another hard drug, nothing special.

I think with hard drugs because of just how addictive they are it's a little different than stuff like nicotine and alcohol. No one forces people to use the substances, but once they start using them once a month or on the weekends, they begin changing their own brain chemistry which fools them into pursuing the addiction further. I've been there and back, Im not talking out of my ass on this one. It has a profound effect on a persons thinking after very short ammount of use. It really throws a persons ability to reason out the window. the troubling thing with coke is that the addicts don't realize they have a problem until they've hit a wall. I don't do the stuff anymore, so it's really not a question of wether or not I had willpower ( I obviously have that or else I'd still be doing it). That's not what get's people hooked, because alot of them are strong enough to come out of these things and are able to talk about it. So there has to be more to it than that.
