i get crap download speed (max about 150k) in torrent ONLY
i use the regular cable internet service

I get 900k/sec on private trackers with no problems on shaw.

when i download from private torrent sites i usually average 450k/sec.

on a month basis i average 50gb/month up and shaw hasn't complained for quite some time.

anyways.. lets get to the point.. torrents and shaw.. actually, never mind about shaw.

torrents have this little thing called seeders;
seeders are people that are generously giving away bandwidth so leechers can rape it.
When you download a file that has more leechers than seeders.. you're going to get shit speeds. Occasionally you'll jump to 140 k. That shows that the leechers have downloaded that particular file and you're going to be at a good speed for a few seconds. Then you drop and bitch. THATS NOT SHAW, THATS YOUR STUPIDITY.

shaw caps at 5 for highspeed, 10 for xtreme, 25 for nitro.

and you dont have to live near the node.

using shaw extreme getting about average 9Mbps off usenet
torrents are around 5Mbps depending on # of seeders
