idiot drivers on cell phones.
It frustrates me to no end when I see a driver on his cell phone come close to driving through a crowd of pedestrians as they cross an intersection. Lately I have seem to many close calls and this is all within the downtown core and the kits area. I'm sure other parts of the lower mainland have the same problem.
Especially now with the poor-ass weather and limited visibility its become a deadly combination. Just today I witnessed this dude on his cell phone run a red light, then slamming his breaks in the middle of the intersection, guy doesn't even drop the cell phone; he's still holding it to his head as he struggles to make some evasive action while other drivers bang on their horns. And this isn't even the worst thing I've seen, it's just straight up oblivious and totally preventable.
And I'm just speaking of the close calls. I'm not even mentioning the number of deaths drivers on cell phones have caused. People who text while driving, even more stupid and dangerous. Use a fucking head set if your conversation is so important.
Its a good thing Ottawa is putting steep fines for drivers caught on media devices. That's a move in the right direction, hopefully local cops can enforce that law and something like that can be done here in B.C.
Drive safe peeps. Pheeew! That feels better.
