agreed. When i go eat i dont expect dope ass service. All i really ask for is be nice, dont screw up for example if i ask for something then go get it for me. If my water is empty you should notice that it is and get me more water etc.. Pisses me off when you ask for something and they take forever to bring it and sometimes even end up forgetting. If it's hella busy in there i can let some things go as i know it's not easy working in the restaraunt business.

Tipping is reward for good service.

I've tipped a penny many times and I have also tipped 40-50% of the bill if the service was truly amazing.

A simple test is this... start at 30% of the bill and keep track of how many times the server screws up or forgets a request. Take off 5% for each and leave what is left if it isn't at zero.

For example... I don't think it is too much effort to keep track that my glass of water is EMPTY and it could be refilled.

i do give prompt service i am very attentive with all of my customers and super friendly,so its kind of hurtful when people dont tip u when u do work ur ass off to make the customer happy.

no, you're right.. it's very uncommon to tip at a bar in the UK unless you're trying to send your server a message. this doesn't hold true for the rest of europe. at restaurants its usually 10 - 15 %

Not tipping is so low...seriously. I've only ever not tipped a handful of times in my life and I eat at restaurants 4+ times per week! The service has to be absolutely abominable for me not to tip...and if service is excellent I'll tip up to 50%, no questions asked!

The fact that I have to tip out to the kitchen and host staff means that if someone doesn't tip me, I am paying money out of my pocket to serve them.

It is true brown people don't tip. They are rude, demanding and treat servers like shit, and then I pay money out of my own god damn pocket to server this?!?

My employer won't pay me anymore then min wage because I'm expected to make so much in tips.

I understand, bad service and you don't want to tip, but how many times to you get awsome service and still leave only $2 on the table?

It is a hard job to do! To give 100% good service to every single table I ever have is never going to happen. Its just too much for one human to handle.

The problem with this whole tipping issue is the cheap ass employers that hire young people to do stressful jobs because no one else will do it. I really dont like the fact that the customer has to tip. its bs. all over the world restaraunts actually pay servers what they're worth. about 15 bux an hour. tips still happen but not often. servers arent making as much, but at least the customer isnt feeling obligated to tip when they dont want to, and the server isnt cursing the cheapo customer they just had.

maybe. but i dont agree with the higher menu prices. restaraunts in n.america are just ultra cheap comparitively to the rest of the world.
