how long do you think it'll take consumers to figure out that this doctor is a complete idiot and just trying to keep you sick before they go find another doctor who actually makes you feel well? how long do you think a drug product will stay on the market if it just keeps you sick? I agree that there are a lot drugs out there that only suppress illnesses or the symptoms instead of cure them, but I wouldn't go so far as to say that they're trying to keep you sick. --Joanne :P |

When was the last time you went to a doctor for an affliction and didn't walk out with a prescription in hand that had more side affects than it was supposed to fix? So you fill that prescription. A while later, the same thing comes back. You get another one for a different drug and on and on it goes. Most of today's drugs just supress simptoms. The manufacturers of these drugs know this, that westerners are just looking for a quick fix. All that means is more money for them. Between the food we eat, the chemicals in our water and hygiene products etc and the drugs we are prescribed, I think that everyone is in cahoots, one big money making ring designed to bennifit corporations while fucking over the general public. So yes, I do think that they are trying to keep us sick and that we are completely oblivious. Maybe I'm just paranoid, but I sure as hell wouldn't put it past any of the corporations out there. |

I actually had a doctor who had put me on 3 or 4 antibiotics in a period of 3 months. it was terrible. and what did I do? I stopped going to her and found a doctor who didn't rely on antibiotics to help me. I agree there are doctors and drug companies who rely on quick fixes... but just using this thread as an example, have you seen the amount of people who have used cortisone cream and seen their eczema go away? some prescription creams work for some people. if it works, that's great. but some don't, and if it doesn't, that's not to say it was the original goal of the doctor or the drug company was to make you feel worse. and if you've experienced one doctor who constantly drugs you up in an attempt to make you feel better, it doesn't mean that there aren't other doctors out there who'll actually try to find a way to really help you. --Joanne :P |

Actually, it was several doctors. Walk in, get looked at, get paper, get drug.
I've always been a believer in preventitive measures. Eating well and properly, as well as supplements from greens powder to an essential omega 3,6,9 blend. I haven't had a prescription in 5 years now. When I get hurt, the doc offers me painkillers, I say no and get the homeopathy going. I don't even have a doctor anymore, I see homeopaths for what ails me, which is now down to hayfever. And that is slowly dissapearing as well. To use cortizone cream as an example, cortizone is a steroid. A steroid in a base of a petroleum bi product. That can't be healthy. In fact, it isn't. Want to clear up your excema? Get some Udo's Ultimate Oil Blend and take 2 teaspoons a day in your smoothy. Go get some Emu Oil and rub that one twice a day. That will prolly clear it up. I still stand by 2 things though, that things like eczema, psoriosis and acne are the body's way of telling you that you are doing something wrong, most likely diet related. The other is that the majority of drugs out there do very little for you and that you should explore alternative methods of healing, find the cause of your problem and eliminate it properly and be pro-active in your approach to your health, rather than reactive. |

you're right, too much cortisone cream can promote skin breakdown, which is why it should be used sparingly. but my point was, if it clears up many people's eczema without them experiencing problems, who are you to say that it was the original intention of these doctors and drug companies for this drug to make them actually worse? --Joanne :P |
