GAHHHHH.....(my black hair dye disaster)

Ok, so last night while many of you were watching the hockey game, something inside of me decided to dye my hair.
So, with a box of permanent DARK black hair dye..I went about the process. It was a spur of the moment thing, and most people I see gracing the streets downtown Vancouver, look absolutley beautiful with black hair. Me?....god. My hair is fried.frizzy and black....as of yesterday. My hair is naturally dark brown, but the contrast is really awful.I really don't want to fry my hair, but today was embarassing enough and I am unsure if i can make it untill Friday without shaving it all off in frusteration. My wonderful hair.....gone...hidden shamefully under my touqe as i type.

Anyways, if any of you have had a mishap similar to this and can tell me wether i should wait a few weeks, or seek serious Salon help, please let me know.

I usually go to Moods Salon downtown, but If you can reccommend a cheaper$$ interesting place to go It would be most appreciated.

thanks.

they will take ALL the color out of it
mine cost like 50 bucks but i got my hair back at least

I hated my black hair when I first dyed it, I had platinum blonde hair and it was a big change...and I sooo hated it and I cried

but then it grew on me, just give it time ;)

I hated mine when I dyed mine black as well. You have to make sure that you have the right shade of black and that's it's not flat and dull. I had a bluer tinted black and it looked terrible since I only look good with warmer based colours. If you still want it out you can go to some salons and get an elimin8 done, it won't fry your hair like stripping it will. but it's expensive. very

i love my hair black....i got a blue tinged one and it looked rad on me....
i need to re colour it black

but ya it just doesn't look good on some people

as for fixing your hair:

make sure you go to a place that can do colour restoration...not just any salon can do this...beleive me...

here's my horror story:

i coloured my hair (i dont remember what colour i was going for...) but anyways it turned out this horrible horrible almost grey colour...it looked freaking awful....so i went to go get someone to fix it...

she ended up making the top half of my hair bright neon orangey yellow and the bottom greyer then before

so my advice to you is to go for a consulation...make sure these people can do this before you go.

Not sure if it matters or not, but what brand did you use?

For using box colors to dye my hair I always went with Clairol L'Image and everything has turned out how I wanted it to.

My hair is naturally black...but kinda brownish black. I dyed it a chocolate red colour at the salon and kept it for a while, but I got tired of it and just dyed it plum black the other day. Used the stuff from London Drugs, and although it didn't really FRY my hair, it definitely dried it out a bit. Need to slother it in lots of deep conditioning products and hot oil treatments.

I had a disaster ten times worse than yours so be thankful your a lucky one :) I was straightening my hair at a friends house she doesnt have an actual hair straightener but an iron works just as well. So I go ok im straightening my hair now, I've never used her iron before and on mine, I have to set it pretty high. But on hers you have to set it really low. What did I do? Of course, set it high. And start straightening my hair. (I was sick so I couldnt smell the burning hair) And about 5 minutes later my friend comes in asking what that smell was. I was like iono. Only to discover that I had completely melted and fried my hair beyond repair. Had to chop it all off until it was an inch long all around. I just went ahead and got a boys cut. Gelled the bangs up and what have you. But that was last summer, so I have a bit of lenght now. :)
