effing unemployment
KAY... so when you have experience... the employers always want someone withOUT experience whos younger and hotter, and is still imprintable.
but when your young hot and imprintable.. they want old hags! whats the fucking deal! my lack of income is causing me appearance crisis. cant get my roots filled, cant affford makeup or clothes. THIS SUCKS.. and when i do get a fucking job i have fucking hurting debts. womp frickendeee womp i needed to vent... so yea... after all this is the punching bag section does n e one know what the unemployment rate in bc is right now? just curious :soak:

You need to find a job that you can always fall back onto. I fortunatly have one of those. The one you always go crawling back to whenever you need some cash between good jobs.
better than nothing and will always take you back. my contract with work is about to run out and there is no way i'm going to find a job that is going to be like ok work for a month then leave for europe then come back for a week and leave again lol. Well other than my fall back job. :) good luck with the search though eh. I went through that when i was looking for work at a resturaunt. earls would not take me because I was to young. and other places because I had no experiance. or maybe I just dont have the look they want. Who knows. my advise find someone who knows someone. it works.

bah see thats the thing tho.. i have 2 years experience at the keg...

Same boat here too!
Right now I am collecting welfare for my situation but I really want to find work and get off it. As .o0*HaLo*0o. it sucks when you have no experience they want someone who has it and when you have it they want somebody who has none. You just can't seem to win anymore when it comes to finding a job. I do however have a suggestion... if you are unemployed human resources has free classes you can sign up for like food safe, computer classes and shit. I just finished 2 classes (i paid for them though) and they told me to really start getting into tourism and hotels and stuff. There is going to be something like 840000 jobs by the time 2010 comes around.

How much experience could you possibly have at 18? You were working at the keg when you were 16? We look for education, problem solving skills and enthusiasm more than anything at my company.
With that said we are an engineering company. I suggest you go back to school if your not doing so already. Quote:

She's worked plenty. age means shit all. i've been working since i was 15. Wine Factory for 6 months Save-On Foods for a year Blendz Coffee for 4 months Labourer on and off cleaning service in at the Blue Bell Hotel up north couple summers ago Drug addiction councelor through LMH plus volunteering. stop adding to social stigmas and stereotypes around age and make a difference.
