^ Speaking out of my ass because I think one should embrace the schooling they (or mommy/daddy) are paying thousands of dollars for? OK then.
K-Pryde: I'd normally take that challenge in a second. However, for two reasons I can't. One, that's not what post-secondary education is about. It's about educating YOURSELF. It's not within my morals to assist someone with what is, essentially, cheating. Two, I have no time, as I have a kick-ass Hallowe'en costume to be sewing for the next couple of weeks. :P Call me egotistical if you wish, that's your opinion. This whole thread is just about opinions. My opinion of my writing, comprehension and analysis abilities is based on my previous schooling as well as compliments and comments I have received from various teachers over the years. And by the way, gifted children do not generally receive "attention from the public". I know the way giften children are taught in the school system, or at least the school system I went through, and they were encouraged to excel but the teachers and administration did their best not to give them any special treatment because of their abilities. And, I never said I was wise. I said that I excel at writing, period. |

and i guess you didn't actually word the words "i am wise", but you general attitute speaks for itself. i don't doubt you have a lot of potential but you really don't have any say on a topic like this if for one you haven't even gone past the ap level of grade 12. it's startling to see someone like yourself say that these assignments are easy. i write papers at the moment at a b+ , a- range at the university level, and damn to write a paper in that range, i put in a serious amount of care, research and thought. proper grammar is one thing but logically organzing your essay with valid sources that are properly documented according to the appropriate style is another. it's just pathetic to talk down to people who are actually doing these assignments at a post secondary level, who may even be able to give you a head start when you get in there. anyways this "debate" is so stupid. good luck to alla y'allzzzzzzzzzzz it's essay time. |

Galaxie,
You could always post one of your old papers and show us your writing prowess. I've got a pretty good idea of what a university paper should look like and if you were throwing stuff like that down in grade 10 I'd be more than impressed. Although, being the internet, people will probably tear it apart with ridiculous bias. Either way this thread is just gonna be "I'M SMRT" "NO YOU'RE NOT" until you step up. |

^ I would, but alas, they are on my old computer, which is dead and gone. And I'm not about to re-type a 10,000 word paper just so fnkers can analyze it, lol.
*shrug* My intention wasn't to say that university level papers are easy. If you'll actually read what I posted, you will see that those words are not included. I said that my bf's 2300 word paper was a breeze, that papers are usually a breeze for me, and that I will enjoy writing them. My ENTIRE point was that I don't think anyone going to college or university should complain about writing papers because they should be expected. I never claimed to be some sort of fucking genius - hell, I'll be the first to admit that I suck at math, and I hate chemistry and physics - but English and language-arts related areas come easily and naturally to me, and always have. Call me naïve if you wish, but I do know what is required of a university level paper. I may have not written a paper in college/university myself, but I have gone over numerous papers helping friends edit, etc. and have also used them in my past research. It's easy to find out what is expected of a college/university-level paper without having to write one yourself. Anyhow, I see no point in disagreeing with you folks any longer. I know what my abilities are, and what I excel at, and I don't doubt myself for a second. Period. |
