Honestly I would be pissed.
Yes I agree that showing up at 1130-1200 was a bad idea, when you knew this event would sell out, but standing in a 15ft line for 2 hours, then getting inside and noticing that the venue wasnt packed at all is complete bullshit. I'd understand that maybe when you got in there the place was packed, but there is no exscuse if it wasn't packed. Regardless waiting in line for 2 hours when you have a ticket is crap no matter what time you get there. I wouldn't go running my mouth off at Cargo/Twisted, I would be complaining to Plush for having such shitty doormen that night. I've never had a problem with Plush doormen, and they seem to usually get people into the club fairly quickly from all my previous outtings. Sorry to hear about that, its not always like that in Vancouver. Better luck next time. |

This story sounds VERY fishy.
Your complaining that ticket prices are so high, and that in Toronto and Montreal they arent, and you can party much later, but you show up to a sold out show at midnight when you know the club closes at 3am and if you didnt, then your an idiot because it says it on the ticket. If you are HONESTLY worried about your 'moneys worth' then you would have known he got on the decks at 11-3 because as ADVETISED he was playing a four hour set. Also to boot, you posted this same shit story on clubvibes.com as well, otu to get at Plush or Cargo, i think so. Next time dont be an idiot and take yer shit story elsewhere. PS. the club was fucking packed, ive seen pics and have talked to people and they said it was INSANE. PSS. be more aware of what time the club opens/closes when the dj gets on the decks and take pre-cautions. PSS. how come your the ONLY person bitching about this night? i had more then 15 people i know go to this show, and they all had the same reviews from the night 'it was awesome'. so why is it that YOU are the only one out of the 1100+ people to be bitching? you have holes in your story, and obviously something doesnt add up right which makes me think there is somethin you aint tellin us and just want to bitch and rant. I think they are just pissed I would be to if I paid 40 bucks for a presale ticket showed up at 11:30 sat outside for 2 + hours. From the sounds of it this was Plush's fault. It just astounds me that no other properly run buisness can get away with this but when this happens at a rave or club ohh it is your fault for not showing up when we opened. That is utter crap for a ticketed event everyone with a ticket should be able to get in do not oversell your tickets and that would not happen.

Jeff Cargo wouldnt oversell, too much of a risk of being shutdown for a few extra dollars.
Im also sure if you did oversell and got caught, you would carry a nice fine as well. I believe this was Plush's fault. And yes, they did get in and they had a ticket. Just because you have a ticket doesnt mean you get in IMMEDIATELY. It just means you will eventually will get in. This is why promoters say, SHOW UP EARLY because they cannot control how fast/slow people will be getting in. |
|
|||
But Andrew this is a ticketed show with a certain amount of tickets why would you be sitting in a none moving line if the clubs capacity has not been reached and how could capacity of been reached or exceeded with ticket holders still sitting outside??
|
|
|||
Plush got fined for overcapacity on monday thats why they were slow to let in people. the other reason was ticketmaster was sold out on thursday, but they were selling tickets at door too. it was packed but the other too times at plush it was MORE packed

Just because they were sold out doesn't mean this isn't more tickets. |

If you read more on the clubvibes site a few people complained about it, it just doesn't make sense that if somthing wasn't oversold then ticket holders wouldn't be let in. As the good troll 10chi said why wouldn't they sell extras at the door for a higher price gotta hit the bank.

eighty5 its funny how at first you're saying you'd be pissed too and then you change your tune. And now you're freaking out trying to back up the promoters...hmmm would you connected to them in any way?
At this point I dont give a shit whose fault it is...and I never expected to get any money back. My story's out. Thats the important thing. And its not only MY story there were many others standing out there with me besides the people I was with. If you really need proof that badly, then ask the bouncers and promoters yourself. They were there. We spoke to them. I did get some apologies but I didnt get an explanation nor did I get in any faster. So believe the story or not, do what you want with it. THE END!! |

it's not even about the refund, day after show if you entered your not going to be entitled to anything. what questioned me was the fact (if correct) they were not in till 2am, then were not offered the option to cash out and go home. walking into the club for an hour and then told to leave would be pits.

I have never had any problems getting into Plush, Ive seen some pretty good shows there too, but u do have to remember it is a nightclub downtown not a rave party, u wanna get in u gotta go early, that simple :) now u know for next time

now you know for next time.. any MAJOR club night.. dont sit around to arrive fashionably late.. cause ur NOT going to get in .... every major club night ive attened ive always gone between 10 & 11:30 latest.... its funny how people bitch about not getting their moneys worth and then complaining about going early... u pay 40 bucks.. wouldnt u wanna go early to get your moneys worth instead of coming down at 12 or 1 and only staying for an hour? .......

hahahha.....hmmm, let me think....$40 ticket holder getting in, or $70 door sale......tough call. everyone oversells. that shit has gone on at almost EVERY major party/clubnight when the promoter has the option. It's just a matter of how much. Also, I was there last night, and I have to say having ONE entry point for coat check/vip/doorsales is fucking ridiculous. Took forever. And don't get me wrong I think the Cargo crew did a good job, ticket prices are high because for some reason everyone involved in this town(venue, security, police, permits etc) are so fuckin inflated. As far as the wait goes, I think it would be a combination of overselling(maybe a little bit) and a poor door system. Cheers J PS: Ladywonder, keep your eyes peeled for a new option coming up pretty quick from Slapfunk All*Stars/Agroculture |

Roger was up by 11:15 at the latest. In fact, he normally opens (plays for 5 hours) but was running a bit late. The club management was being VERY strict at the door as I believe the fire marshall/police were in and out all night. That club was packed both upstairs and down and no, we did not oversell the club. We actually do have a meeting with the venue on how ultimately we can work on this moving forward. |
