To be honest, I read a bit of the story, and posted right away.

Then I went back read it on clubvibes.com and then on here again, thought about it some more and re-posted, my bad.

And no im NOT anyway whatsoever affiliated with Plush, Cargo Entertainment or Twisted productions and yes im sticking up for them because they are very experienced promoters and have a handle on things.

This is the one TIME something like this has happened to my knowledge and im sorry it had to be you that suffered.

Others also complained about it on Club Vibes and this is far from the first time this kinda thing has happened out here it is a general occurance. I remember it happened at Kiss just last year cause the venue was maxxed out and ticket holders were left standin outside in the rain. It happens unfortunatly but nothing is gonna change cause hell people will always keep on paying and waiting.

Where to begin... I was one of those people that had to wait in line till just past 1am and I was lucky enough to be at the front. If you can call it lucky waiting for almost 2 hours. Being in that position I had a great view of the events that occurred. First of all in the ticket holder line there wasn't just a few of us there. From our count it was over 50+ people behind me ALL with tickets. It is true that in our line NOT one single ticket holder was allowed access between 11:45 and 1:15am. NOT ONE. MANY people can verify that including myself.

We were told numerous times from the bouncers that they were over capacity and that the cops were there threatening to shut the party down but we would be allowed in shortly after they leave. During this time my friends and I counted approx 25 people that either knew the bouncers, Plush's general manager or had little clothing on and pushed their chests in the bouncers faces to get in. (I guess if you have it use it right?) It wasn't until 1 am that a Cargo representative came out to apologize for the wait and announced ONLY ticket holders were going to get in from that moment on. In my opinion this should have been done from the beginning. If Cargo really wanted to avoid the problem that occurred they should have had someone out there from the beginning making sure that was the case.

I know from what I saw that it wasn't Cargo running the door when you had the GM from Plush instructing his bouncers and staff repeatedly that they were over capacity and not to left anyone in. There was even one instance that one of the bouncers did let in a couple of friends and he freaked out on him for doing so.

As for the cops they did not arrive till around 12:20 so that they can't use that excuse for the first half hour we were there. They did however come and go a few times after that.

To all the people that keep bringing up the time, stop and actually listen to yourself. The reason for advance tickets for any event whether it is for Dj’s, sporting events etc. is to guarantee your place in an event. PERIOD. To say it because those people were too late and don’t deserve to get in just shows lack of any common sense. Just because “It is that way for these events” doesn’t make it right. Some of those, like myself, bought tickets the day they went on sale to guarantee we had tickets to such an event.

In the end those people that waited that long to get in or not get in altogether deserve to get a refund period. Even when we did get in, our night was pretty much ruined even with such a great talent as Roger Sanchez. It’s always about the first impression. Personally it wasn’t about the money for me it was about how we were treated by such an unprofessional establishment and incompetent staff at PLUSH. If I were Cargo I would take a long hard look at continuing their relationship with Plush because this wasn’t the first time this has happened. This was just the worst. I have been to many of these parties where I have had friends in the line in the same situation. I hate to admit that the only reason I had got in those other times is because I did know someone at the door. If it meant that a ticket holder didn’t get in or had to wait then I do apologize. This was the first time I had been on the other side and I completely understand.

This isn’t the only venue that this has happened before but the difference is how it was handled. One case in particular was in the early spring when this happened at another venue except the promoters took action refunded or partly refunded the peoples money and also gave them tickets to a future event. That was going above and beyond.

The one good thing about being in this industry and being in that situation on Friday is the fact I come in contact and my business reaches out to many people in this city and I for one will be making sure they ALL know about what happens at PLUSH and about the lovely people employed at PLUSH.

dreckis has a little shameless behaviour in the past
I guess you morons do not understand what pre sales are???

I was there, people with tickets were waiting in line for hours while little bitches were handing the bounces 50 dollars to get in.

Twisted no wonder you are going down the pipes. I only hope to see Solid starts to organize club shows so these types of messes are out of the way.

So I guess from now on everyone knows do not bother buying pre sales just bring 50 bucks for the bouncer and you will be good to go!

Oh and everyone should know why the bouncers were being such pricks at the end of the party it's because that Vietnamese lady that always sells tickets got jumped by some guy in the party. That is why they were so fast to close the shit down. Tell the truth.

Solid please stick to raves and not club nights. And Twisted, can't wait to see you throw more parties again- they were always some of the best. :D

PS - Solid was ill organized for Dooms from what I hear, although don't quote me on that cuz it is just heresay.

Again, welcome to Vancouver. And I am gonna diss this cities' scene. I have been for a while. Those who think Vancouver's scene is normal doesn't really know the difference; until you leave and see something else how can you understand? Imagination and grapevine stories alone cannot give you the real experience of a good scene.

Alternately, you must get to a show by at least 11pm in Vancouver. Every local knows this. Also, it helps when you know people of course.

I believe the promoters are doing their best to boost this cities' scene. It will get better to 2010. I have faith...

I read about a quarter of the posts in this thread. all I have to add is..

it's horrible that you had to wait outside of plush for 2 hours to get into a show that you bought a ticket for, it's not fair that there are a lot of people that bypass the line because they know someone who is throwing the event.

what ever happened to supporting your friends events and paying?

if cargo/twisted knows that plush security is horrible at working the door, why continue trying to hold massive events there? (I'm sure there is some other venue to use... ie commadore)

I know how our city works, it's not like other cities where they care about whether you bought a presale ticket.

I pay stupid cash for dj's that I want to see that only play for 3 hours. I get in a line that might take me forever to get in after I spend the cash to get a ticket. I try to get there early enough so that I get my money's worth.

I only buy the ticket so I don't have to pay even more at the door.

There should be a better way of getting everyone that has tickets into a club before door sales, and friends.

Kraig is a jewel in the roughKraig is a jewel in the roughKraig is a jewel in the roughKraig is a jewel in the roughKraig is a jewel in the rough
I posted this in The Lounge and on Clubvibes but I thought I should post it here also:

A message from the CARGO team:

Hi everyone and our apologies for the delay in posting this up. A few of us were out of town over the weekend and we’ve finally had a chance to sit down, examine ticket sales and ultimately put together this reply.

We would first like to thank everyone who made it out to our Roger Sanchez show at Plush this past Friday, November 4th. We appreciate your patience and understanding and to all of those who have replied to the various threads on these forums with info, your help is also appreciated.

The situation:
To cut right to the point, the Vancouver Police have been really hard on Plush as of late and have the ability to close down the door or call the venue “at capacity” whenever they want. We were NOT over capacity and did not oversell the Roger Sanchez show despite anything you’ve heard from your friends. – Those that were at previous Roger Sanchez and CARGO events know that we have visually had a hell of a lot more people in that venue before!

Even on Saturday, October 29th at G-Man and Rizk’s (one of Vancouver’s longest running and most respected promotion teams) Big-Up Saturday’s, the Vancouver Police not only shut the doors down at 2AM, they actually shut the whole club night down at 2AM! On the popular Monday, October 31st show there, again the Vancouver Police also made it difficult to enter the venue. My point in stating this is that it doesn’t matter the promoter or the night, the Vancouver Police have the power to do what they want with the door when they want and this is exactly what happened at our Roger Sanchez show.

Vancouver doesn’t have a lot of large capacity venues that allow us to afford bringing in the massive talent that we do which is why we host our large shows at Plush as it is the largest “legal capacity” venue in Vancouver.

In terms of bouncers letting in non-ticket holders or personal friends in the venue ahead of our ticket holders that were waiting in line: The team at CARGO have come down hard on the venue management over this issue and have shown them each and every complaint that has been posted on this issue and have stressed to them that this can never happen again. – This is especially important with the Vancouver Police monitoring door traffic and “perceived capacity” as they have been as of late.

TICKET HOLDERS WHO DID NOT GET IN:
For anyone who did not get in, please contact your original ticket sellers either they be personal sellers, at Boomtown, Clubvibes.com or Clubzone.com. They have all been informed of this and on how to deal with refunds. Any advanced ticket holders who did not get in, will be issued a free ticket for the upcoming CARGO Christmas party at The Caprice with Stonebridge on Sunday, December 4th.

Once again CARGO apologizes for this unfortunate situation that was beyond our control and can assure you that we are in discussions with Plush’s club management to do whatever we can to avoid any similar problems at our shows moving forward.

Should you have any further questions or complaints, you can contact me directly or you can email Azim – kraig@twisted.ca or azim@twisted.ca. We will do our best to respond to those emails in a timely manner. Should you have complaints, please also accompany those with suggestions on how we can improve our nights also taking into account that there is a bigger picture (in this case the Vancouver Police) to the problem.

Thanks and hopefully we will be seeing some of you at our upcoming events:
This Friday, November 11th = ERIC MORILLO at Plush
Tuesday, November 22nd = BENNY BENASSI at Club 686
SUNDAY, DECEMBER 4th = STONEBRIDGE at The Caprice

Sincerely, the CARGO team - Azim, Savio, Ami and Kraig

For your information I do like trance, just not all the time or alot of it. :) And anyways, I just think they should bring in more DJs that spin other genres.
