sarah doesn't wear much make up at all... in fact she always looks 'au natural' except maybe for a rare occurance where she puts colour on her eyes when she's goin all out.
i HATE my skin too and wish i had the confidence to go without make up more often. hang in there... i find it's easier in the summer when i've got a bit of a tan. |

Not all girls that wear makeup are insecure... I've NEVER worn face powder or foundation because it doesnt look good...but I sure do enjoy dolling up my eyes with lots of makeup! It isnt an everyday thing..and its definately not to hide what I look like underneath..I just enjoy it ;D

A little advice for the ladies out there..
I know how hard it is to feel unperfect, but who is perfect? (If you ask me I love inperfection) Why cover your self with barbie faces? When you look at yourself and start wondering: but I hate this and I hate this, it is also a mind state you must take to look pretty, a happy face for exemple will be much more seductive then a powdered face... Of course we need to take care of our selfs, but without exaggerating. Dress smart too, often the way you dress makes a much larger different then the way you makeup. Start with accessories if your not sure how to dress on particular occasions. If you have any negative comments please keep it for yourself Last edited by maztraz; Jan 12, 06 at 01:41 AM. |

Any girl can smear pounds of makeup on her face, and wear the trendiest of clothes to look like all the girls that came out of the same cookie cutter.
The girls who do their own thing are the ones who stand out and look beatiful. I don't wear makeup on a daily basis because I don't really want to or feel I need to, but one thing I DO like, is spending an hour getting ready to go out on the weekend. It doesn't matter whether it's hair, makeup, or clothes, it's just fun to get pumped before you go out. It's like transforming from your regular school/work self into your crazy party mode. |

I notice that most of the girls i know who wear lots of makeup are the ones who know how to put it on without making themselves look like a total bimbo. Most of these girls though also look gorgeous without making up on, but since they are so good at putting it on they can make them selves look better and they start to think thye look bad without it. Only because their judgment on what is good and bad has clearly been altered.
personally, ill roll out of bed get dressed and maybe put on a little mascara and maybe ( if im feeling wild) ill put ona little eyeliner then i am good for the day. |

I wear minimal makeup, only some cover up if I'm really baggy-eyed, but usually not often with the cover up/foundation. Always eye makeup though! Eyes look so tiny behind glasses. Freak show like in fact.
I think it's a mixture of social pressure & media pushing the makeup'd image on girls that creates this disgusting phenomenon. When someone has acne all over their face, but it just looks like it's coated in a thick lumpy layer of foundation/coverup/powder, it makes it even more obvious.... Plus it's SO BAD FOR YOUR SKIN! Barf! |

hmmm, i'm not totally sure where i stand on this. who really cares what a person does with their make up. i don't think there's anything wrong with wanting to look good. some people think no makeup is beautiful and some people like seeing a girl all dolled up.
i think its hard for guys to have an opinion on this. if there was something out there that made you more confident and feel more beautiful maybe you'd use it to! the "why do girls where makeup question?"..........i'm pretty sure you all know the answer! *edit*= i do in fact agree with zarlon though.........it can tend to make you look worse sometimes..........but if its making that person feel better, i can't really see why it should bother anyone |

^ Very true. If it makes it possible for you to get through the day without having paranoid freakouts that you look horrible/disgusting etc... (say if you have SEVERE acne..) that's not so bad - it is all a matter of perspective anyways.
I know lots of guys who wear makeup, and they're just as superficial/lame as people stereotype lotsa makeup wearing girls to be. |

As long as I have chapstick or lipgloss I'm good to go...maybe a light coat of mascara if I feel the need.
I really appreciate and respect ladies who can be confident going out with minimal amounts of make up if any at all. I bet it leads to longer lasting beauty too. If you think about it, a lot of women wear more make up to hide "flaws" which over the years probably speeds up the aging process resulting in them feeling they have to wear even more (because they believe they won't look good without it).... it's one of those vicious cycles. A clean and natural face is far more beautiful, younger and healthier... and as for "flaws/imperfections", they don't make women less beautiful they add character which makes her stand out in her rown unique way. :) |

Contrary to popular belief, not all make up is bad for your skin.
In fact, some Foundations have excellent qualities that should make some of us want to wear them. Including extra moisture, SPF to prevent sun damage, and anti-wrinkle treatments (to treat and prevent future wrinkles). I wear a tonne of make-up, but I wear it in such a way that it is classy, and you wouldn't say I am hiding or trying to compensate. Make up is supposed to enhance what features you already have. But there are girls that make me want to lick my thumb and rub their face with it. There is classy, and there is trashy. There are only a few girls on here whose make up I think is disgusting. They could be very pretty, but how they wear it is intimidating. ps - I know a lot of boys that wear make up |
