somone said it to me at work today and i was speechless.

ok so maybe it doesn't apply to you. but it applies to me.

at my job, there's "streets" between the barns and connecting the barn area.
and that's where people walk from one place to the next.
and we ALL know eachother, there's close to 600 of us, give and take.
and the main place we encounter each other, besides on the racetrack (and most of the people there don't actually get on the horses and go on the track, there's only maybe 100 who do, myself included)
so usualy we encounter each other on the street.

so, "the word on the street" is quite litteral where i come from.

and it makes ppl look like idiots when they gossip and dont have the balls to say who
