Well, not to sure if these tracks are from 2006 or not. But for me in 2006, these songs stand out the most.
Junior Jack - Stupid Disco Armand Van Helden - My My My Antoine Clamaran - Keep On Tryin (Yohanne Simon Dub) There's some others that will stand out for this year for me as well. But thoes for some reason are just on the top of my head. |

Lol too funny. For me, anything by Richard Earnshaw and Central Avenue for 2006. I really didn't fine World Hold On that spectacular, though I do enjoy the Earnshaw mix. And Steve Edwards as a vocalist is always a good choice. |

World hold on by a land slide. I heard that track played on average 5+ times a day when in europe. Made the crowed go off every time in the clubs.
Changes is the only other one I can think of at the moment to add on with exceeder, no more conversation, keep on trying, this is miami, hands up for detroit etc... Although Chris Lake never seemed to have a massive monster hit, his named seemed to appear on every thing. I easily have over 10 tracks with his name on it. Deffinently best up and coming house producer this year. PS: I'm hearing and can already hear it coming... looks like minimal and techno will be the new fad of house music. Even though its technically not really house :p |

I think they started calling it electroHOUSE around 2004 for a reason... But agreed that Sinclair always rocks the house, so to speak. But if we're limiting out all the electrohouse that came out this year we're down to, what, 2 tracks worth mentioning? |

/\ yes.... also, no one mentioned any actual house music... Tracks from house producers such as Brett Johnson, Lawn Chair Generals, Jay Tripwire, David Duriez, Kaskade, Derrick Carter, Kerri Chandler, Alex Kid, Roger Sanchez, Inland Knights, etc... heck, even Eric Pryds is considered house (he is the poster child of a special category of house = super cheezy house).
THOSE are House music artists... Most artists, except for Bob Sinclair, mentioned in this thread are Electrohouse... may be the title should be "what is the best electrohouse track of 2006?" ;-) Quote:

well it gets difficult to determine what's house and what's electro house when they're all made on computers with samples and synthesizers....are certain sounds considered house and others electro? if a track has a beeping noise in it does it's lose it's "house" status? i know i see some tracks labeled as house on beatport, and electro on trackitdown......what is the difference?

And I guess since this thread has turned into "What is your favorite electronica track of 2006", I will have to say that for me they are:
- DFA's remix of Hot Chip's (just like we) Breakdown. Booka Shade mix that just came out is also killer! - Any anything that Switch touched was in my top play list. So many to name, all so good! The remake of Ying Yang Twins: Shake was killer! And let's not forget "A bit patchy" Now THAT was the track of this year for sure! - Ame: Rej but just the original version. The remixes kinda sucked. - Peaches remix of Yeah Yeah Yeah's Cheated Hearts. TUNE! Electrohouse lover will dig this big time, specially the peak -f. |
