House Track of 2006
If you had to pick one track that you remembered best from 2006 what would it be?
I'd have to say a few that come to mind for me are: World Hold On - Bob Sinclar No More Conversations - Mylo (even though it was released at the end of 2005...it didnt really kick in till 2006) or Things You Say (Dirty South Remix) - Cicada |

first half of 2006 - world hold on and patt stick out as big monsters
other ones.. lost d ramirez, bodyrox, and not to forget proper education.. biggest record of the last few months huge year for the sweedish mafia (especially axwell), big year for jask, another successful year for deep dish and sinclars album did super well. but the record of the year has to be world hold on.. loved most of the remixes too I keep editing and wanting to add more I'm happy with the amount of music that was pumped out this year, and look forward to some different sounds as electro is on the way OUT!! It was a huge cross over hit and i'm curious if any of you guys have heard the original on a large system. exceeder was huge.. so was rej.. so was that lost remix.. and patt (party all the time) and i can't believe no one has mentioned that I guess that's the beauty.. everyone has their pic. But for me.. it has to be world hold on edit: i should totally make a "daddys favorites" cd for my favs for 2006. |

amen
not that big on the fish go deep myself.. but to each their own so many quality records veni... start digging through your old cds and mp3s. So many - and jask had a huge year, he's pretty much one of the main faces over at traxsource.. they should change it to jasksource |

You know what's sad? Jask was one of the major successes this year yet I bring him out and we were know where's near sold out. -- And that was in a 250 person club.
And you wonder why promoters don't want to take risks on not as well known talent like Jask. Fucking lame mainstream Vancouver. World Hold On will definitely take the cake for the biggest tune overall. -- Earnshaw's mix of it is one of my favs. |

i called that earlier :p
and kudos to kenny for mentioning the egg (of which i'll assume you're going with guetta vs. the egg's track). Was it just me or did exceeder not get much play out here? I loved it but I didn't think it had huge exposer? |

shameless promo
"My House, My Fridays Rule" - tune in now |

I may stand alone on this but his Summer Rain is a commendable pick from the more Soulful palette.
And from the mainstream, I'd have to go with: Filterfunk - Message In A Bottle (Some remixes work better than others) Michael Gray - Borderline And the more recent Junior Jack - I See You Dancing (which may actually be a short-lived sentiment). But I'd have to agree with just about everyone here on Bob Sinclair. This year he definitely comes to the forefront. |

World Hold On - Bob Sinclar for sure.
A lot of stuff mentioned here, such as Mylo, D Remirez, Thin White Duke, Justice, etc... is not really house... more on the electro tip. When I think of house, I think of stuff on Defected records, Subliminal, Naked Music, OM, etc... But yea, Bob Sinclar always makes killer house music. -f. Electro is house for people who don't like that cheesy funky bullshit that we have been forced to listen to for the past 5 years.
<3 Electro for making me like house again! Long live the grindy dirty basslines! Last edited by Bobby_T; Dec 05, 06 at 09:45 PM. |
