Bring different breakbeat dj's to vancouver!
this doesn't really include dnb dj's cause i dont think we get enough of them...
BUT when it comes to breaks, i dont know about you but im fucking sick of seeing the same florida breaks dj's spinning at parties more from the uk! more specifically, bring in BLIM, stanton warriors, plump dj's/soul of man/any producer(s) from the fingerlickin label john 2899131 |

ya tru I'd like to see more dnb myself, for whatever reason its seems like the only jungle we hear is from locals, there hasn't been a out of towner dnb'er for a while, if someone was to bring one instead of breakz, that would be a nice change from the same ol' thing. :smoke1:

The only non-funky breaks DJ I wanna see is Simply Jeff. Bring back Sharaz. Why not bring in a good 2-step DJ? ~Tim |

word on stanton warriors i was gonna make a post about them..they would fuckin rock a party...id deffinitly go to see them at a plaza party
everyone knows E.T brothers know whats up..its a shame they don't throw parties anymore since they threw the best ones. whatever clubs are better, i just they could pull these guys in on weeknights, and have alot more variety as far as really good clubs go. i guess if we give it time the club scene will develope Last edited by SEAN!; Nov 19, 02 at 06:15 PM. |

If Groovy already has this wicked DJ's booked, werd to da props for booking them but we are not going to bring them to one of our parties as well... it would take away from the crowd he would pull to the club or vice-versa. Peace. |

freq nasty is a dope dj, as well is krafty kuts. BLIM i've heard is lacking but hell he'd have all the sick new shit, that i probably wouldn't care if he stopped one track and started the other.
As for Stanton Warriors and Plump DJ's, they made the top100 for a reason. (annnnnd there's only like 10 non-trance/progressive on the bloody list) |

Part of the problem might be due to the fact that some of the better promoters who kept diversity in mind are no longer in the game.
For example NICE brought both simply jeff and soul of man in last year........i think it was ,time sure flies. And SEKS seems to aim at bringing in people thta few others do as well :) ........but ya freestylers this week, woohoo! B//F |

I believe that the Meat Katie show is going to be redone sometime in the near future... but anyways, I don't that there is a lack of big names coming through Vancouver, as Lenny pointed out. I think it is more a lack or hype and attendance surrounding many of these events.. pay attention to flyers ppl hand out to you, and support your local nights, so they can last long enough to bring in the big names!
Weeklies: Monday - Edit/Element Tuesdays - eXpression Sessions at Atlantis (who are bringing in Tipper Dec. 4th) Wednesday - Seks at the Drink by Pound and 20Hz (who have brought in 2Sinners, Atomic Hooligan, Elite Force, Dj Hyper etc...) Special Events: Usually Thursdays at Sonar, by various promoters such as LIME, 20Hz, 2Guerilla and Pound, etc. Last off, it usually isn't cost effective for anyone to bring these big names in for raves, as the cost a whole bunch of $$$, and the only a few companies throw big enough parties to support that, but unfortunately the majority of their business comes from main room trance and house lovers. |

i mainly want to see BLIM... i love that phat basslines he uses is all of his tracks and ive heard some of his sets online and they arent bad.. but then again i guess i have to see him live to judge his spinning
i may be wrong but i think BLIM came in the summer except he was playing on the island? are the et brothers still around? either way, beat_farmer was right in saying that all the production companies that bring in the diversity in music are all gone... the best ever was seeing capital j and dj rap spinning in the main room at plaza john 2899131 |
