agree also, for the longest time no one has brought a junglist as a headliner..... nowadays its all progressive and breakbeat. Finally there is outatown jungle talent and everyone hates it. Guess thats why theres hardly anymore parties, everyones too picky.

andy blows the roof off of automatic every time he plays there, he's got great technical skills, and a good ear.....except that he's pretty much deaf now (ever gotten close to the monitors when he's playing? whew)

everyone plays anthems on new years eve you putzes. it's because that's what the crowd wants on new years eve you putzes. especially when it's a fairly mainstream crowd at a rave you putzes. putzes.

i couldn't care less if you party at the plaza of nations since i myself have had alot of good times there. but it all comes down to this; parties at the plaza are directed more to a crowd that don't really know all too much about raves and electronic music. if you havent realized, most people who attend plaza parties arn't all too educated about the scene. they probably dont follow the music like you do. drumnbass anthems are anthems because they made it up there. the drumnbass scene does not work like the top 40 scene does do you understand? theres a fine line between underground and commercial. andy was probably throwing down the anthems to open some ears and let the new crowd hear whats been happening in the scene but negativity from people who assume they know it all need to realize how fuckin stupid unnecessary shit talk is. it's funny cuz i can be ignorant as well and give you shit cuz you probably don't know shitall about the technical skills andy has. but you know what? thats fine since you're probably not a dj nerd like some of us are =p. i'm sure you're a good guy but taking it as far as to saying that a very highly respected figure in the vancouver drumnbass scene sucks makes people wonder who this mikey person is to say something like that. hell if you know so much about drumnbass what the fuck are you doing sitting behind your computer talkin shit when you can go get some decks and show us what a real drumnbass set should sound like? if your response to that is "oh i have no time" or "i dont have the money" then i think its pretty clear what your position in this subject is.

i'm not gonna go any further than that cuz everyones entitled to their own opinion... but it doesn't always mean their opinion isn't an ignorant, if not a stupid one.

she may be in langara but alotta people goto langara so they can get into a better program at a place like ubc or elsewhere... shes told me her future plans for her schooling and it definetly sounded legitimate to me.

i've seen him play a few times now and i know he throws down the anthems. but like i said, its a fuckin plaza party. kids who dont know shit about drumnbass probably wouldnt be able to handle the deeper shit right away. trust me, when i personally didnt know too much about drumnbass i shit talked djs cuz they didnt play the tracks i wanted to hear and in the end u realize how stupid it is cuz theres ALOT more to djing than track selection (which is still a big factor dont get me wrong).

First of all, my point was...a lot of people go to the plaza to see big name DJs that throw down a lot of anthems, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I don't see how ragging on andy for doing the same thing makes sense. However you chose to take this as some kind of personal attack on your friend, I have no idea. Where did drugs come into this?
