Big Boi and Dre each have there albums but there combined as 2 discs. Big Boi is more down south rap while Dre's is more funky & experimental hip-hop. Outkast has always tried new things and this album is the same format.

I would'nt think Speakerboxx sounds anything like down south. When I think down south I think of the bling bling dorks that hog BET now a days.

Speakerboxx sounds like a funky party cd whereas the Love below if more of a Love ballad that lasts 20 tracks. SOme fo the production is amazing but some is jsut downright crap.

BUY THE CD IT IS QUALITY LYRICALLY AND THEY DESERVE TO GTE BACK WHAT THEY PUT INTO MAKING IT.

down south = Bonecrusher, Outkast,Killer Mike, Lil Jon, Ludacris. Heavy in bass. Big Boi's cd is more bassy than Dre's, which is more funk.

anyone who can't see that doesn't know music

I understand where outkast is geopgraphically. Their sound is much different from most of the artists in the south
(except the dungeon family which I belive they're apart of) it's not cheesy the lyrics tend to be complex and the production isnt a kick snare and a frutiy loops sample. The music has a direction and most tracks are made with live instruments on top of synth whereas most other south rappers use all studio gear and talk about how much there wheels cost or how they "NEVER SCURRED"

i find it weird though that Big Boi and Andre 3000 split up and did seperate cds. they are awesome together and i'm sure that they are just as good as solo artists....but in a way its like they can't stand each other anymore, so they decided to do seperate cds and just use the outkast name because they knew it would sell more. just a conspiricy, i'm sure that the next album will be the same as the old ones.....but who knows?

would it be better if they broke up like little children and never worked together again?

they are both creative people, part of that creativity is exploring on your own too.
