However, when the name is preceded by the letters "DJ" the quality goes down substantially. |

An album that's taken 3 years to work on isn't so much an album as it is a compilation. zyx, if you're serious about it, I recommend just doing some intensive studio-style work. Take something like a week to make an album.
Actually. That sounds like an idea. I haven't made a track in a while. Hmmmm. |

Jesus. Takes me weeks to finish a single track - and that also really depends on your definition of "finished". I'm *hopefully* soon moving into heads-down studio full-time, which I'm looking *greatly* forward to - maybe even end up with something good enough to put on vinyl, if I try hard enough. I hear working 40-50h/week in the studio makes a huuuuge difference over 8-10h/week. ;)
Myself, I'm looking forward to hearing Zyx's CD - when you put a lot of time and love into a project, it usually shows. I've heard waaaaay too many "finished in a week" albums from new artists in the past few years, and to be honest, I'm not really interested in hearing any more. I hear a lot of people brag about how they can churn out a new track in a couple of hours - and I like to think I can draw a direct relation between that and the decline in quality music releases over the past few years. Sure, there's still loads of awesome music coming out, but there's also sooooo much crap! (speaking of which, I'm working on my demo CD right now. I'm only making 100 - Dave Ebbomega and Crazy Dave, I'll have a copy for each of you set aside. Hit me up for it.) |

Why the hell is everyone bashing me... for god sakes isnt this the country where you believe in something it will come true. To make your dreams come true in this life is the only thing striving us to complete our goal in life. My goal is to be loved by people through my music. I'm tired of defending myself, for I have nothing.
Mux made a really good point, what are you going to be listening to in 5 years a hit from one of your favourite hard house tracks or a hit from The Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, Crystal Method, BT, etc... I'm going to try my hardest on my album despite what anyone else says. Plus it's not going to be souly Acid, I don't even have one track that is Acid in my cd. At the time when I released my first two albums Acid was just becoming popular. |

No one is telling you to give up! You just gotta stop talking so damn big! Try a little bit of modesty, youll gain a hell of alot more respect that way. |

and why do u think that is? allow me to retort - do you go out to local nights in the city? do you meet other producers/djs/etc? do you have any idea who any of the other established local techno (or whatever genre it is your producing) are? if the answer to any of the above is in the negative you should first seek to correct that problem before expecting people to flock to your greatness. whut whut! |

where was the creativity on that song?
Its all been done before.. If you want to get ahead.. Make a stellar track that everything you use is tweaked to the tits and then produce a cd. The first 30 seconds sounded like real pussy industrial mixed with euro dance and followed by some breakbeat. If that's your idea of techno.. I think you should put that pipe down. |
