Anyone excited about my new CD?

Man, you guys are pretty rough on the poor kid. At the same time, ZYX man, try this okay, try as hard as you can to get out to the techno nights around town, listen to some music, talk to people, etc. If you're too young to go to bars, do some research on the internet.. local acts, big acts, whatever. Just learn as much as you possibly can about the local community for your genre of music. Then go on kazaa and download every single "acid techno' track you can find and have a listen, like from the big names (Rabbit on, etc).
Then.. take ALL of those pieces into the puzzle and market your product accordingly. Posting random messages on f&k won't do shit except get you some tough critics, maybe take 20 cd's to the next rave you go to and simply hand them out for free. Promote yourself before jumping on this site saying you'll personally save the rave scene.

Promotion is the key. Marketing. Self promotion. Look that stuff up man. Don't let your ego take over because it'll just flatten you in the end. It will happen kid, don't give up, just try a different approach when you can see something is not working.

There we go, some constuctive critisism.

Myself, I'm looking forward to hearing Zyx's CD - when you put a lot of time and love into a project, it usually shows. I hear a lot of people brag about how they can churn out a new track in a couple of hours - and I like to think I can draw a direct relation between that and the decline in quality music releases over the past few years. Sure, there's still loads of awesome music coming out, but there's also sooooo much crap!

(speaking of which, I'm working on my demo CD right now. I'm only making 100 - Dave Ebbomega and Crazy Dave, I'll have a copy for each of you set aside. Hit me up for it.)

1- You can't come on here and say is anyone pumped for my new cd? 'cause quite frankly you haven't done shit in this town. Jack shit. By posting this you now have a negative stigma attached to you as well. Good job.

im glad im entertaining. but ya despite some of the critics in here, critics die in the end thinking about everyone elses stuff and commenting on what other people have done. It's better to have done something for yourself and maybe inspire some other people in the process than do nothing and comment on how bad everyone else is.

This site is just a tiny part of the scene that you're trying to make a name for yourself in, and frankly, you haven't started off very well (as pretty much everyone posting in this thread has tried to tell you in one way or another).

Maybe you should actually take into consideration what these people are posting. A lot of them are DJ's or promoters that could hook you up. But your attitude is a huge turn off. I don't see how you don't realize that. I would never book you for a show, whether your an amazing producer or not, because you come across as such an egotistical asshole.

I haven't seen you making any effort to support any techno nights, or techno dj's. How do you expect people to return the support and respect if you yourself don't give it?

here is my piece of constructive advice, this site is probably the last place you should promote your music. if you haven't already noticed, the majority of the people here are highly sarcastic and cynical and will jump at any chance to point out what you are doing wrong with your post, website ect.... myself included. so heres my final thought on the subject before i resume to making fun of you again: quit while youre ahead, the humiliation will only get worse.
