If that's a photo of The Factory it's an old ssl. I was told it was never used at abbey road but for mixing at another studio.

got no pics... but right now I have:

an P4 3.0 HT laptop
oxygen 8 keyboard
a guitarport
24-bit external soundcard

very modest... but I've seen live acts hold themselves together on about the same...

its wicked, it can go omni, cardiod or fig 8, high pass filter, 20-20 freq response. i've definately got some nice recordings considering i've yet to have enough money to do any kinda isolation :( but using some of the posistions i learned at douglas has yielded some good results. I ordered a bunch of books and am gonna take some more courses to learn protools in and out..theres aloooooot of stuff...

Awesome. Ya no kidding. Once you get into mic'ing techniques and learning about more or less lil positioning tricks, etc, that's stuff that takes a while as you said, ya. I jus bought an RME Hammerfall soundcard with Apogee converts....nicely blew a pay cheque and a half on that....heh...next step is 4 mics and some more pre's......When I get the chance....I wanna get the Focusrite Red 7......such a nice pre..... :284:

I don't have it man! I ordered it last year... and still didn't get it. Something's messed up here...

I heard that there is practically no latency as long as your motherboard bus is at least 800 MHz.

Latency with the Hammerfall is about 4 ms.....only thing really slowing it down is the CPU =)!

Damn, really interested in one for a quick portable setup. I've heard the pre's on the the new onyx's are absolutely killer, in fact... a few people one a logic tdm group have quoted them sounding BETTER than Neve's.. which is hard to swallow for many. Proofs in the pooding, keep me updated if you do end up getting it.

Cheers,
Kyle

i took these pics with my phonecamera since i don't have a digicam.

but yeah
2 Technics 1200 M3D
Vestax PCV 175
Harmon Kardon Stereo Amp (don't remember the model number)
JVC Superbass HiFi
2 Yorkville YSMP's
2 Yamaha Rock Monitors (the other one i disconnected just now)
1 Bose CD Player
And a computer thats hooked up on the side for recording (which i haven't done since i hooked it up)

looking to get a new mac, final scratch and a new mixer. probably going to stay true with vestax... or possibly an ecler.

and a new velodyne 12" sub would complete the sound system
