Your parents music.

What do you think about what your parents listen to.

Some times I dont mind it.. but some of it shouldnt have even gotten a record deal... [ie - some country]

my mom... half of it I can't stand..
my dad... I can stand most of it.

My Mom listens to a lot of Classic Rock and they both love Elvis and ABBA. I am going to see if I can borrow ABBA on 12" sometime. So all in all not too bad until my Dad breaks out the KISS FM or some other vardo like that.

my moms listens to various forms of chinese music from 'pop' to chinese opera.

she also listens to abba, bread, the eagles, madonna.

i'd rather hear the old school 70's stuff then chinese muzak.

As I get older, I realize 'oh shit!' when I see a lot of music I have is music my parents dug, my mom was really suprized to see Van Morrison and Leonard Cohen in my mp3s because apparently I complained a lot about both of those.

i really dont like my moms music it's like spa music, which is basically like recording nature. when she turns it on it creeps me out cause it's all just sounds of waterfalls and sqwirls eating random nuts. i seriously dont understand why anyone would even buy a cd that has the same sounds as walking outside would generate. omg. well recently she has got into liking U2, which isn't my fave, but hey it's better than listening to animals breed.

i have ended up stealing alot of my dads records, and my moms 45 collection is alot of fun.
i think as they have gotten older, their music taste has gotten a touch too easy listening for me. i have my dad to thank for my classic rock love.

One time my mom asked me what that crap was on my cell phone msg. I said it was a hieroglyphics clip and i said it was hip hop. She said "uhh actually, i think eminem is hip hop" she likes to watch alot of entertainment tonight. My dad listened to alot of classical so i found a tonne of mozart records, some old jazz. My mom has some michael J, partridge family, donny osmond, bee gees, beatles

All you people with classic rock records, can i buy them?

I envy you. I've never heard of a dad being a d&b fan! Oh wait, there was that 55 year old DJ a saw in a small club in england called "Dj Whosyourdaddy" who spun tech-step. No shit.

my dad is big into the bagpipes... and thats surprisingly stuck with me... there is nothing like hearing a mass band of 60-70 pipers play "amazing grace" in the sunset... the ground shakes! he's also into a lot of classical rock, but he's not really particular about what bands...

my mom listens to a lot of pop music... new and old... other than some older elton john, I can't stand the shit she listens too...

I have mt Dad to thank for the music I listen to. He has given me all his records and now I add to that collection weekley. Both Me and my Dad love Zeppelin. And we are always getting each other Zeppelin stuff for Christmas. My Mom likes really good music as well. The only one I didn't open up to as fast was Frank Zappa which they both love. I like him now though, it grew on me.

My Dad said he understands why so many of us get high and listen to dnb or breaks. So I guess we don't have that in common. But he will still listen to it and listen to what I have to say about it. My Mom won't even hummor me.

I use to run around the house 'dancing' to Dark Side of the Moon. My Dad used to put that one on every time he made dinner.
