How many of them are actual bands though?

There are very few electronic musicians I would consider to be a "band". Depeche Mode, Kraftwerk, The Faint, The Shamen, etc. I'm not even sure if I'd consider Underworld or Hardfloor a band....

I suppose that means I define a band as 3+ members? I hope not, that seems too arbitrary....

meh whatever... forget what I said then...

as for "bands" as to ebb's definition (3+), I still have yet to get bored of the albums "Lateralus" and "Salival" by Tool... whenever I'm bored of some artist or band, thats what I put on until I find something new... Incubus is also another band I never really get bored of... and if they can keep my interest for that long, its great to me...

The following are bands I discovered in the Summer that I have yet to get tired of, that if I still had my mp3 collection I'd still be listening to on a daily basis:

Tool
Black Eyed Peas
Primus
KMFDM (knew them before, didn't fully appreciate really till last summer... didn't think were godly until I saw them live)
Modest Mouse

not sure what dfa.zip is, or who put it there, but there's a download quota of 80 mb.. the file is 94 mb, so it can't be downloaded. i split an album in half and uploaded it, might wanna do the same?

That was me.

Maybe thats the reason I can't get on there anymore either. WAY TO READ THE RULES SIMON.

I'll break it in 2 and re-upload it (assuming I can get back on there at any point). Its worth effort.

No offense Liam, I just felt like pigeonholing this particular thread. Part of the reason I'm stoked to find more of these traditional (with traditional being a relative term) musicians is that I get more than my share of DJ music in my life. Finding guitars and vocal harmonies really refreshing right now.

i cheated and uploaded perry ferrel's (from jane's addiction) album, which i guess isn't really a band. but he was in a band, so it kind of counts? haha, either way its pretty good.

i grabbed it, enjoying it so far. i've downloaded everything i didn't upload myself (excluding the incomplete files, heh, remove those guys). enjoying ediT a lot too.

I'm kind of interested in what Bright Eyes has been up to lately. I kinda wanna hit up that show in Seattle except I work and I'm probably already taking a day off to hit LCD Soundsystem.

I'm interested, not because I like them (I've heard about 3 songs out of their album I actually think are good, nothing really gripping) but because... hey... if electro worked for deathcab, it might work for BE too.

Heh. I watched the Tiajuana episode of the OC today.

DJ Z-Trip's demo cd has Tool (Sober) mashed up with Outkast (B.O.B.). It was my first real exposure to either, and I first heard it back in April of last year.
