Ok, I'm talking with a buddy of mine. He said he seen me looking absolutely mangled pretty much right off the bat. That makes no sense, since I didn't have much to pre-drink. Considering how absolutely shitty I feel, and with the total blackout, he thinks I might've gotten roofied. I'm wondering if I did myself. Honestly, all I remember is showing up with my buddy, and it's just a complete blackout from there. What a horrible night.

Ok, the cops just gave me a call, my car was found. Turns out it was legitimately stolen. The back window was smashed out and the car was hotwired. Why they'd want to steal a beater when there's way nicer cars parked on my street, I dunno. It just sucks that it's going to cost me a couple hun to get that window and the ignition fixed.

/\ where was it parked exactly? Would be good to know so as to avoid that area in the future... Back when we did Cheeky, I parked my car on Helmcken St. a few times, and got broken into. Helmcken was not as busy as Granville, and that area was somewhat less lit. It totally sucked to have my window smashed and have to deal with paying for it, plus my CD player and my CDs being stolen....

Hey man, sorry to hear you got jacked. Picking up a girl at the lotus is like shopping for used tires, don't bother. I went this last weekend and the music is better that Focus Friday, but not by much. It's advertised at EDM, but it's just trendy electro. I predict that this music will fade, much the way that the ripped jeans and ridiculous hip-hop designs are doing right now.

Normally, We have 5 residents who play on rotation and their mandate is to start the night off on the funky/happy tip, and play some disco punk, lowered tempo interesting electronica, house and what not. As the night progresses towards the middle, the electro-house and electro-rock sounds are brought on, and towards the latter part of the night, techie sounds from techno and tech-house and minimal are played. We have worked hard to make sure this is the case, and that is why we have kept the guests to a minimum (to ensure consistency). We also try and feature international guests from all areas of that spectrum. Some past guests have been: Brett Johnson: tech-house (Dallas) Chopstick: electro (Berlin) J-Dub: house (Chicago) Matthew Dear: techno (Detroit) and we have Swayzak(techno) playing next month as well. Of course, each of our residents play that formula with their own touch, so even though we try and follow the Signal music formula, there will be personal variations on that depending on who is playing. Myself, I try and minimize the cliche sounds when I play there, and i usually post my track lists so people can get a taste of what got played (check out: http://fnk.ca/board/f9/electronic/ab...isting-102841/ ; as you can see, it is a healthy variety of all sounds). Anyhow, myself and Woodhead are playing this week, so come check it out again, and form your opinion after you have come to Signal a few weeks and got a well rounded taste of what Signal is about. peace, -f.
