Vancouver Peace March March 15, 2008

If my memory serves me correct, they traditionally start at the American Embassy and walk to English Bay.

I believe this march has been going on since 911.

Prior to this there used to be a Peace March in each April but 4-20 rally gets April now.

Then there is a September rally to properly honour 911.

I believe it starts at noon.

yeah, lets fucking martch for peace because just by us doing that...it will happen.
I wonder what antics the APC will pull this time. Protesting and marching is counter productive.

I dont understand why hippies even waste thier time.

Another thing, why the fuck does every protest/rally/march happen on or around the VAG????

Hippy 1"yeah lets protest at the VAG!" hippy 2 "YEAH THE VAG!@!!!!!"

wtf?

Most peace marches I've attended have been ending at the armory. It's easier to criticize the grass roots peace movement than to get off your ass and participate. The establishment loves people like you, people that will sit back and defend their agenda. Keep standing down.

I'm sorry some of us don't want to march with a group of people who's political ideas are so fractured no two people are marching for the same thing.

It's easy to rally behiend something simple like the "Peace March". After all, who here is going to say "I hate peace."

But, what are the actual goals? None, a big group of people will march down the street, and end off with a bunch of speeches. None of the speeches will be linked together by any common thread other then peace. No practical ideas will be presented. No logical action will be spearheaded. At some point the people who know the least about world events (like the apc) will pull some stupid stunt to try and make the paper so they can give each other high fives over beers that night.

Sure, some people will see, and hopefully be educated. But that's not the case. Anyone who cares already knows the facts, and a cardboard sign with "MAKE PEACE NOT WAR" written on it in black sharppee isn't going to educate or change minds.

A protest is ridiculious when it's such a broad goal, and not directed at anyone. Seriously, your protesting in front of the art gallery on the weekend. Nobody cares.

Honnestly, if everyone who went to the protest sat at home, and called/wrote a letter to a politician a lot more would get done.

if you knew anything about the "establishment" youd know that we're all fucked and we're all going to die and that democracy has been dead for years. Its called the Illuminati.

wake up,its bigger then you and 109-82784761239745134598725683741 hippies put together.

Peace is not a viable option as it is human instinct to defend and protect, throw religion and politics in there and well present day is what you get.

actually at the moment, i put the least impact on natural resources than say Jimmy Pattison.

but i don't make a big deal about it.

tho i think a bullet tax is one small solution to peace.

i was at canadian tire around xmas and looked over the locked up gun display case.

wtf is with bullets selling at $5 for 50 and $25 for 500??

it should be more like $10 for 50 and $125 for 500.

tho it'd be doubtful they'd let me on the mike to propose that
