I guess were all in agreement that it sucks that summerlove is cancelled this year. I too was really looking forward to see rank1 and ferry spin some sick ass sets.

grrr at apex sum1 came up to me n there like oh its CANCELED i was liek wtf... so then for a week i thought i was canceled then i was liek hmm maybe there just high n stupid..thank god its not blah i was soo sad its mi b-day rave tho the date got changed... it used to be august 23 3 days after but w.e i gets in for free so im happi:) its gonna b nuts

My apologies for its delay but I was waiting for Azim to write something... Instead, Salim from Swing Kids has put together a short note:
With much regret, Summer Love Festival 2003 has officially been cancelled. There are many reasons for this, but mainly it is due to the short time period available to coordinate such a large show. With the short time schedule, we would not be able to organize and promote the event to the quality SwingKids & Twisted Productions are known for. If we can't do it right, why do it at all? Next year, planning will begin by March and things will be organized better. Stay tuned for a dope summer show next year! FULL TICKET REFUNDS available at point of purchase. In addition, two other things to note:
1.) Rhythm Nation being cancelled scared the shit out of everyone, including our investors. They simply did not want to take the risk given our DJ budget alone was double that of RN. 2.) Swing Kids and Twisted did not have "official" use of the Summerlove name until roughly 2 months before the show date. As Salim mentions above, 2 months is simply not enough time to promo such a massive show especially with the scene the way it is. Peace.
