I'll move em right, but they were placed on all pages for a reason. fnk does not have any of the popups or flashy ads that annoy, however we still need to advertise to stay alive. be thankful this place isnt a shitshow like myspace ect

well its a fine line until people will just not use the site, and then it won't matter how much you advertise. unless you want to be the next clubvibes, or clubzone, which is what this site is turning into it seems

This site was built around the promoting of local shows from what i've been told. It's also been a place where people come to discuss the local scene and music.

I feel that our ad system is much cleaner than clubzones and eventually the googles will be replaces with more topical local ads...once i actually get to it and write that system. They're just placeholders for now.

Might i suggest something else??

Have the adds placed on the top, and bottoms of the topics. I understand the need for advertisment money as i have run my own websites before.

But one of the most important things is to space the ads in ways that will not detract from the users experience.

I think by placing at the top, maybe 2 thick and 4/5 long you will cover all of your adds in a Non-intrustive form.

That way when the users start the thread they see the adds, and then go on to read their posts, without being distubred by the adds as they continues down.

it's called setting up the site to have higher google rankings. posts submitted to DIGG -- more cross links giving higher google rankings. this will hopefully enable them to get more advertising revenue.
