trying to figure out if they lock the student bundle to only one MAC ID as it seems to be the case. currently have only one computer online, but want to have two with internet access, and I can't seem to get the second one online

umm... If you have a router it should only appear to them that there is 1 mac address. If you don't have a router I suggest you get one.

im assuming you're using a hub to split the connection, but either way i dont think shaw keeps track of mac addresses from each connection. it might be the case that shaw is only leasing one ip to your account. check your hub and make sure its working properly, otherwise you'll need to get a router (ncix has them cheap)

If you have an extra network card you can use one system as a proxy, AKA one of your systems becomes a router.

but send me your account info and i'll something called free ip. it'll work with a hub, but for more secure access, i'd get a router from future shop.

I've come accross many customers purchasing a secondary mdm and internet account rather than getting a router.

yeah i'm not that dumb, and I would like to network the two computers. my question was more like.. does shaw intend to limit a student account to only the one computer, as it is a discounted deal etc etc.

nope, they dont.. but for additional ip's, you'll need to go to a business package.
for lightspeed, you only get one ip.

for highspeed, your max is 2
same with extreme
