Like you said rumours. Look at what he's brought to the playoffs, 3G 1A in 3GP.... combine that with the attention he takes and you =have yourself one of the best role players in the game. While his antics are a bit overboard at times, he's basically what we wanted Ruutu or Cooke to actually bring to the table.

The proof will be in the pudding if he comes. Otherwise I'm really not going to be able to convince the non believers.

I dont think so. I think we have a lot of promise. We have an amazing defensive core and we have 3 or 4 really awesome young guys stepping up. We have the sedins and they have proven then just need to play with some big dumb plumber (SUP ANSON). We also have a capable backup in the system who may be able to step up this year. We have a lot of money and basically a blank slate for the next GM to make the team they want to make.

Yeah, except based on what the owners are saying it sounds like they are looking for someone who will trade away the youth for a big name, something Nonis wouldn't do, even though it cost him his job. Not to mention the fact that this move means Fabian Brunnstrom probably won't sign with the Canucks even tho it was a done deal up till this point.

It all comes down to who they hire, if they get someone with experience who will make the right decisions we're fine, but if they are looking for a puppet who will do what they say, or if they hire someone without the kind of experience necessary we're screwed. Firing two GMs in the span of 5 or 6 years doesn't exactly make this an attractive place for proven GM's to sign either...

Honestly it seems like they have no idea what they are going to do. Firing Nonis was a knee jerk reaction, and now they have to pick up the pieces. Hopefully this all works out for the best, but things are looking a little dodgy at this point.

im sure Aqualini wants results, and that's his yardstick. i dont think he wants to be the GM, and im sure he wants to find the most capable GM for the job. he gave Nonis a lot of leeway/money and i think that were going to be okay, unless he hires someone who is batshit insane.
