Eh, DSL providers giving subpar "fiber" service is pretty common. Verizon does it in the states and boy is it ever ass.

Plus this means you'll have to deal with Telus' infamous tech support (your magic words are, say it with me now: "I think I'll have to go with someone else").

Basically go for this option if you enjoy self-flagellation.

Working in local winbacks i actually get people on a daily basis angry complaining that Shaw has lied to them to get/keep their service.

but at the same time, the maximum bandwidth is like 5mb on telus extreme.

Plus, what're res is supported? 480? 720? I highly doubt without a decent fibre line they're going to be able to support 1080p

i've been using novus since the beginning of the month. it's noticably faster than shaw or telus, so totally worth it if you're wired for it.

If you use a router make sure you open your ports. Otherwise it slows your download speed a ton.

If you download without this you get like 10 k per second, but if you do it with open ports, I get about 100 k/per second.
