that is, if you care about energy dependence, depleted resources, environmental quality of life, smog, water quality, urban crowding, public transportation.

I think disbelief in climate change, icebergs, and rising sea levels are not mutually exclusive from a self-centred "i want my life to be better" viewpoint.

BTW 'global warming' was changed to 'climate change' several years ago. And you think Co2 is coming from the oceans? cuz all those cars we have driven for a century didn't factor AT ALL?

how about this? I'm not saying it's 100%, for sure, positively, definitely, caused by humans, but I am saying it's cause for concern.

The e-mails talk about falsification of data, ruining credibility of dissenters, banning dissenters from writing in journals regarding different theories, and 'unifying' scientists under 1 opinion. That complete removes peer review. I agree that GW may be happening, and it is possible that human's have caused it- however, especially with the new information that has been unearthed, I think there is far too little credible information to completely overhaul the world, and punish the 1st world countries while letting the developing world off the hook, compromising the world economy even further during a recession....

how much of your quality of life are you will to risk for an extra 2% increase in your income? that is the real question that needs to be answered before you even consider a position on climate change. The downside risk is exponential human suffering, environmental degradation on a vast scale and as a consequence the global economy can expect to take a prolonged and very negative hit. Are you willing to risk this for the the meagre 2% of world income that would have to be invested to mitigate the risk?

I wont even bother comenting on the validity of this story other then to say your argument is akin to holocaust denial. The evidence in favor of the existance of antropcentric global climate change is so vast as to be insurmountable, especially when the opposition to it is coming from people who lack the credibility, understanding, training and experience to even offer a valid opinion.
