He wakes up every morning to be president, but his advisors wake up every morning to present him options of what they think should happen. They convince him of what they think best. Right? Would i join the war? like others have said, only upon invasion. Realistically, in the 21st century, if the US wanted to invade ANYONE, they can only go north or south. And see'ing how Canada has the natural resources, it'd probably be us first. So if those stupid americans decide to call isolation again, the red lights in my head will go on. Then, if they make demands, i hope you'll all be with me on the boarder with a pitchfork or shot gun defending our home. Regardless of if the government asked us to or not. No one is going to take my home without me giving them hell first.

As for you guys who trust the Media, please take the time to read inbetween the lines. Try to figure out WHY they're telling you things. They know that they're telling the world, but more importantly, they're telling the americans what to think. American news adds to the US propaganda machine. they have no other way of controlling the masses aside from the news that they trust.

In my opinion, if world wide news groups like CNN are covering things such as the presidential election, the reporters and news casters should not be american. They should be unbiased 3rd parties who will report it right down the line. It's impossible for someone who's involved in a story to tell the ENTIRE story properly. Why don't they follow the election for prime minister as closely as they do cover american elections? does THAT make any sense? If CNN is a worldwide news network, why are we only see'ing what helps fortify American moral?

Anyways, i'd fight. but only if they brought it to our front door.

It's not the US that's solely to blame, you should actually read my comments before you respond to them. Canada and all members of the U.N. are clearly to blame aswell. What you don't understand, is the fact that there is a group controlling the us government, everything that gets done is in their hands. bush doesn't take a collection of suggestions and turn them into a decision. he simply does the speeches that are written out for him.

This isn't really an easy question for me to answer. While I am morally opposed to many of the acts of war that I have seen or have watched enacted throughout the last decade or so, I have to believe that our government has had the good sense to involve itself only in those conflicts that it deemed necessary to not just secure our nation, but the rights of individuals abroad to live in peace. If our government were to decide on a military action that would require the sheer number of fresh troops that would necessitate such drastic measures as a draft, I think I would go. I don't think I could sit hiding in the hills while other people that I know who did not flee a draft were off on foreign or even national soil bleeding and dying for a cause our government felt was that important. I think at that point, for me at least, it would not be a matter of national pride, but personal honor that drove me to follow the government mandate.

However, if it were a call for volunteers....I probably would not go unless I felt that I could morally justify the actions that were occuring.
