This was a hard one... just anyone but conservitive!!!

Overall I like a liberal/balanced government...

However I debated wheather to vote strategecly or who I felt needed more say in parlament?

North Vancouver has always had conservitive represnt... so I though maybe our liberal guy who had an awsome reputition as the mayor for years and posibly has a chance? Luckly he he finaly beat out the conservative guy :y:

But with the $1.75 going to the party you vote for I couldnt decide between green or ndp?

Last minute with out even thinking I X'ed NDP...

Im kindofe pleased with the polls so far... a minority government HAHA and NDP will have much more say and its nice to see the green party getting more suport. I hope one day theyll earn a coupld of chairs :)

Wow... I remember beinng in australia when they where dealing with the Balli inccodent. It soon lead to Howard wanting to go to war with the us... Im not sure what the out come was, but I do remember aussies beign very upset about his disitions and how Howard wasnt even going to let them vote becuse im sure the Marjority of australia was highly agaist going to war.

Argh. The Conservative incumbent, Paul Forseth, won by 45 votes over NDP Steve McClurg in my riding. The Left/Center was completely split, leading to the NDP losing the minority balance of power. Tis a damn shame, and I hope it gets righted after the mandatory recount.

Then you should have gone to the polling station and spoiled your ballot. Or at least registered to vote and then not voted. That way, it gets recorded that you didn't vote, or that you spoiled your ballot... You become a recorded statistic of people that either refused to vote, or could not find a suitable candidate.

If you don't register, and you don't vote, you only exist as a prediction of peoople who didn't vote... and that is usually chocked up to apathy, not to genuine political dissatisfaction.

I think slowly others will realize a conservative goverment for us in the west is the best thing that could happen, if you take a look at Alberta and they way they have prospered in the last 20-15 years...which came from getting social credit out and progressive conservative in...In turn Alberta was able to benifit greatly from the oil fields that were controled by the fedral gov...I do afree his views on same sex marrige and abortion are a bit vain but i belive there is nothing he could do to change that if he did come in to power...i am very happy at the outcome i just wish conservatives would have gotten 2-3 more seats....now we wait and see

And see the whole problem with that is, there's a lot of people trying to be Ralph Klein, but they're still not Ralph Klein

See the left managed to stay in by a narrow margin, phew, Canada remains a safe haven.

As for the Iraq war, like yeah, havn't you heard? Australia, USA, and UK are the axis of evil. In a city of 4 million people(Sydney) ONE MILLION marched against the war and we still slavishly followed the US in and are still there now.
So much for people power

Hey cool. I also think the Kyoto Protocol is a sham. The UN is just trying to control all the resources and private property in the world.

I voted in the 'wack for Chucky Strahl. Firstly cause I know him and he's a decent guy. Plus he was the guy who was alwasy like, "Dude, Preston Manning's being a dick. I'm sitting this vote out." and "Man, that Stockwall Day is a total cockbag." I'm not 100% with some of his views, but I respect the way he handles his job. I'm registered out in Burnaby this year, which is traditionally NDP town, garnishing an extra minority bonus with Sveny-boy. Now that he's outta the picture I don't know if an NDP candidate will be able to bring in the focus to Burnaby's concerns the way Sven could, Canada never did really wear out the novelty of a gay MP.

i guess if i had to pick one i'd go with ndp... cause the torries just suck my ass, with their anti gay marraiges and no abortions. Then the liberals well.. haha... enough said. Seems now adays the ndp is the only one that realy caters to the middle class citizens. anyways thats enough outta me. POLITICS = BOOOOOOOOOOOO

I just dont understand...

WHY!
WHY!
why would people not see the importance of conservation of our forests and ocean WHY would someone vote for anyone BUT THE GREEN PARTY! Do you guys know that just nine years ago we had a fishing industry that was BOOMING! I lived on an island where the cannery was the gold mine. The fishermen know what's up..they knew ten years ago that fish farms were bad news...and so did the gov. Now, and this makes me really upset, we have fish farms that are KILLING our coast lines and DESTROYING the habitat for clams, shellfish, rock cod, SALMON....basically EVERYTHING. If you fly up and down the coast it is very apparent just how many of these fish farms they have. To vote for any party that would not ban these festering boils of crap is an outrage.
The raincoast conservation society has been literally fighting foresters along our coast to stop the DESTRUCTIUON of estuaries that spawn WILD salmon. The focus of their ventures are to save the wolves. In essence our environment depends wholey on the conservation of salmon rivers and streams. This is where our planet gives rise to all species. NONE of the parties that are up to win are planning on doing ANYTHING about it. These estuaries are the backbone of our economy. You may believe that they are of little importance in an election but I swear on my life, 70% of the land in BC is not protected with ANY LAWS! THEY ARE DESTROYING OUR PROVINCE...why would you vote for liberals, ndp..whatever...they don't care about you if they don't care about making the necessary laws to protect YOUR diverse and OUTSANDING and DELICATE environment that we are SO LUCKY to be living in;P

they make my blood curdle...I've seen all of this first hand. Maybe u should all go on the discovery coast passage before they shut down public access to the central coast of BC. Something they plan to do. They don't think tourism can hold the economy up there. I've seen it..it works. I had my own business appealing to the tourism industry..taking walking tours throughout the island and let me tell you, those people from around the world, they thought our province was AMAZING. These are people from the top tourist destinations in the world and they could breath the air and say WOW I'VE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO BREATHE LIKE THIS...I don't know about you, but I wanna breathe like this for as long as I can. And if you care about your children, you'd care about the environment..

who cares if they won't win this time..next time. your vote will allow them to race with the bastards that plan to destroy everything we have. when they get enough funding to make a strongly heard platform more people will start listening and they'll win.
