Yeah... I've found out that the woman has been living in the battered womens shelter across the street for about a week. The suspect had been looking for her on Saturday but couldn't find her. He found her this morning obviously and handcuffed her. He attempted to force her into his vehicle but she ran away. He followed her in his truck and confronted her when she stopped two people to ask for their help.
Lougheed is still teeming with police as of about 6:30 pm.... still looking for evidence I guess. What a fucking nutjob this guy must have been. I think the hardest part is dealing with my 7y/o son asking me why people just go out into the streets and shoot other people. He's been pretty scared all day and is only now starting to feel better about it... mostly because he knows that the guy is dead. I think I'm going to take hin to one of the police counsellors so they can talk to him. Having a police man tell him that they got the bad guy will probably make him feel alot better. It is cute watching him when he says that the guy is lucky he had a gun because Daddy would have kicked his butt to the moon....

woah, what an intense situation to wake up too! Its so sad when this kind of thing happens. I just read the rest of this thread...That is so harsh! I'm glad he didnt get away with it, its too bad he made all the wrong decisons & wound up dead because of it...What a crazy world.

I was walking down there this morning, on my way to get smokes.. and when i was approaching the stairs I saw the police tape. I was shocked.. and walked around.. I had a feeling it was a shooting.. because from about 3:30-5:30am I was having weird paranoia about people getting shot. I get things like that sometimes, premonitions.. :\

I just read an interview where they are saying the cops used excessive force. OK this guys running down the street blasting cap down the road at the police and anyone that is unfortunetly enough walking by that day and your blaming the cops. This town is crazy. IF THE COPS ARE BEATING YOU OR SHOOTING AT YOU YOU ARE DOING SOMETHING FUCKING WRONG. I am not a fond lover of the cops but at the same time these guys/gals have a damn tough job as it is and what they don't need is joe blow public looking over their shoulder every two seconds. If we let the cops beat a few of these punks down then maybe they'll think twice about fucking around on OUR streets.

Yea... front page of the Province today. I heard gunshots and police sierens yesterday, I knew something was up...Some guy picked up the girl as she was getting shot and drove her off to the hospital, if he wouldn't off, the shooter would of killed her. I hope she recovers well, she's in stable condition now.
