isn't the point of a signature to leave something personal or whatever at the end of your posts or what not to indicate that its yours.. not to promo parties and shit.
i mean my work email uses sigs to incluse your contact info. why are fnk sigs so completely out of control. i don't even have one anymore.

i'm not impressed with the recent changes on here, posting events has become a real hassle, and now sig's? any other board i visit wouldn't stand for this stuff, and i don't think we should either.

i think that they should only be limited in size not taken completely out. i'm hearing the main problem is that they are too long to scroll by .... solution, create a shorter limit to the sig. i think they should be LITTLE personal touches, like the avatars are. also i don't think i've ever gone into the promo section, i only know about parties cause of the sigs and my friends. my vote is keep em, but make them shorter.

were just adapting to our new amount of users and traffic. when we started we never planned to reach this size. btw, the events is a mess at the moment, your right. by summer all will be fine tuned.

i understand the idea is to make some $, but in reality, the people on this board will find somewhere else to go. promoting on here should be limited in some sense (meaning, if you pay $, you get premium space) but there should still be a way for promoters to start threads and have people reply to them, just like they can anywhere else. otherwise i will start making threads and putting them in the lounge, right forums be damned. i'm not impressed with the inability to make a normal thread. and even when i go looking for something to do on whatever night, it's nearly impossible to find out what's going on, cause most people aren't using the calendar from what i can see. in order to avoid the hassle of making a calendar event, i have put the automatic guest dj in my sig, to make up for the lack of promotion, and now you want to take that away from us too? :grumble:

in due time the Calendar will be used and the event posting will be as effective as threading. all the same features are still in place as before, simply the "New Posts" bumping feature has been removed and made available for "premium" promotions. again, people fear change and defiantly this recent wave of changes is a hiccup in the overall posting methods once used. still in due time it will become second nature as it was before and from my opinion it will have a much better outcome in the long run. allowing users to overview a calendar type layout of coming events rather then how many times a promotions company can get their thread clicked to stand out above the rest in a every-thread-for-themselfs forum onslaught.

now on the other hand. i know it costs $ to run this site, and takes a lot of time too, and i fully apppreciate it. hell, without this site (or others like it) the scene would not be half as good as it is. BUT, free promotion is needed for continued usage by the smaller promoters (IMO) and it seems like actions are being taken to insure that not being available. hope i make some sense here. :S

some peoples are outrageously long.
you could still advert. a few upcoming things if they were limited.

See, at other forums (phpbb ones primarily) the system that works is the one in which sig sizes (and consequently sig images) are limited.

free promo is defiantly the main goal. for many years my invision of FNK has been a promotional tool as in turn it helps organize the patrons. a single source for whats going on, bringing all the bits and pieces together for a one-stop informational gateway. the recent changes have been drastic and seem to have brought less rather then more. development is underway which will benefit both sides of the scale for the better, the future. my time donated into this development is just slow and spastic, summer.. =)
