This is the problem with Vancouver. We get rid of our good goalie like *Atures Irbe*, even Skudra we gave no chance too, yet Cloutier gets all the chances in the world. Even if Alex Auld is young he deserves to start more.

I would have taken our chances with Brent Johnson. Now washington has him...

Even when he is playing good I doubt him all the time, because man watching him when the canucks are under pressure is scary. You like feel a goal coming before the other team scores.

I don't get that with Auld, i didn't get that with Mclean. With cloutier we ain't getting far and our team is only getting older...

Ya bertuzzi definetly needs to get some adrenalyin pumping through him. He looked real weak. So did morrison even ohlund looked weak today.

The guy has his moments granted but when it comes down to it he seems to crack under the pressure more often then not. I have little faith they will win many shoot outs this year with cloutier in net. I have never understood why auld isnt played more. I think given a bit more experience the guy could turn out to be the missing key for the canucks.

Agreed....the goallie is only one part of the reason a team losses.....if they can't play defence and cover thier man in front of the net allows for alot more shots on net then of course we're probably gonna lose......granted Cloutier isn't the best in the world you can't just go around blaming him everytime we lose.......more often then not it's because the defence shut down and played like crap

i seriously think cloutier is sucking lately. I know he made a few saves but out of all the shots the wilds had a few saves is NOTHING. Only thing worth watching tonight was the fight between Henry and Bertuzzi.

Let me throw out my position, in point form:

Cloutier had one bad game tonight, that is not enough to judge him on.

Cloutier has had stretches in the regular season before when he's been great.

He seems to have serious problems going up against the Wild. So does the team. I'd like to see Alex in net against them on friday if only to prove or disprove once and for all this whole "The team's playing bad because of the goalie behind them" theory

Cloutier is garbage in the clutch. He has the opposite of Alex Auld's nerves, causing him to get out of position and flop around like a fish out of water, either injuring himself (a la last year's playoffs) or letting in easy goals. Lots of teams have learned that you just have to outwait him for easy pickings.. Minny especially.

Cloutier has had enough 2nd, 3rd and 4th chances. It is time for a change.
