Congratulations man! Best thing you could ever do.... I bought my place about 6 months ago now. Absolutely loving it!!! Best part is being able to do whatever you want to it! My place is only 3 yrs old but I'm already looking at upgrades... hahaha

New laminate flooring in the living area
New Carpets in the bedrooms
Tile in the bathrooms
Granite countertops in the kitchen
Crown Moulding

Yep, That shit definately helps increase the Value of the place, new bathrooms and kitchen are the real major upgrades you can do to any older homes.

I bought a place in october and have already repainted the entire interior, put new carpeting in, and put in brand new lighting.

Appliances also play a HUGE part in increasing value for re-sale. alot of the real estate agents i deal with tell me it one of the first things people look for when scoping a new house.

ive done hundereds of appliance deals for the specific reason of increasing a house's value for a flip.

Whirlpool appliances are by far the best. frigidaire or GE is what usually comes with a place cause the builders get good bulk deals on them.
