It has been noted that a REAL "citizen" is someone who understands the realities that surround the majority of people around him/her-self, the communities they live, what they face, and what are their respective struggles are. If you want to get into some rationale discussion and make a relevent argument then start it up, otherwise shut the fuck up.

sooner or later, you're going to realize that a genuine love of a country has nothing to do with holding a flag,or chugging a beer, or singing the anthem and everything to do with fighting in the struggle for the rights of your fellow countrymen/women.

Its an allusion. The protest that is "allowed" is in fact to pacify the masses, and have them believe they are doing something. If you go past the invisible boundries that are laid down, the hammer falls pretty fast. Why do you think the government consitently attacks Aboriginal peoples, or the Muslim community? Not because they ARE Muslim or Aboriginal, but because of what they represent. They represent an alternate choice/ a chance of unification/ politicization of peoples and resistance.

I talk to heads with opinions like yours every day atleast 3 or four times. And it always boil down to two things. You tell me that I should be happy, because I can protest in relative safety, and I will respond with a) safety isnt that relative for me and b) its because I have the opportunity to protest and dissent and resist, THAT I DO...that an I am a "citizen" of an imperialist countru that is one of several nations that are the reason behind most of the suffering on this planet.

When I was in Australia, we had a BBQ, taught all our hostel-mates the words to O Canada, then proceeded to the pub to get hammered and sing said anthem at the top of our lungs while standing on chairs.

Dont even talk to me about grass roots resistance.

I have family that fought for communism in teh Vietnam war.
My father fought pol-pot in Cambodia.

My grandfather was a govt official in South Korea who quit due to corruption.

Dont even start Fable, your moral crusade is peanuts compared to my families past history. And dont even try to bring me into conflict with my past, because i know my family, and they wouldnt like you very much. Actually, theyd say, well you know this Fable guy and all his crap he's spewing.
