I remember a few instances of small promoters being muscled out of throwing parties because it was the same week as whatever-plaza-massive was happening that weekend, and some bugging out (I'M DOCTOR ROCKSO) member of the cartel decided to made heavy-breathing phone calls to make sure it was understood there'd be consequences if they pulled numbers from the supposedly "legit" shows.

Remember there are various sides to all stories. What seems like a well-oiled machine can seem like a monolithic pollutant from the outside. And neither side is exactly wrong.

haha - i miss the days of the bomb threat. nothing beats sitting in your car in the dead of winter, middle of night, with two half assed security guards that are trying to keep you and the money safe while the police go through the venue diligently cause the other promoter was pissed you threw a party the same night. good times.

So im not surprised if people think its a TWISTED show. It was all Twisted promoters handling the party/footwork to begin with, i am most likely wrong but it seemed that way to me and many other people.

I was reffering to Evolve recycling a catchy name... hell who wouldnt go to a party called spooky... man this makes me wanna go to Japan and throw a party called spookAy. note the "A".

Back on track though; Spooky branded itself with the rave community over the years... theres no legal process to "branding" a name that im aware of, thats why new clothing lines arent "BRAND NAMES" til theyre recognized by the mainstream.
I think you were confusing Trademarking and Copyrighting with the branding concept.

spooky will be back, we are just on hiatus.

we stopped putting on spooky partly because of lack of good venues but the support was there. the last spooky was sold out and there were people waiting outside for the entire night. it was a good show.

salim and myself werent giving the show the attention it needed, and being so close to apex, all of our attention was going there.

it has flyers and it's advertised on other forums that I visit, SoundProof » HOME always updates their website for their upcoming event.

I don't think they want the younger crowd in their underwear coming to their events so they don't post on more popular websites.

just because it's not advertised as much as other parties doesn't mean that the promoter and party shouldn't be respected. This is their 10th year and still going.
