but lots of people who rave and like electronica don't post on fnk, like i said in an earlier post. if everyone who raved was on this forum, there would probably be a fuckload more active users.
i'm aware that people have created accounts to vote in hopes of seeing me spin at apex, i just hope that doesn't piss anyone off.

edit: and if ppl have a suspicion ppl creating alt accounts in order to vote, i'm sure the admin of this site could take a gander at the ip address's of people posting.

Quick thoughts on the mixes, in order I listened to them:

Edoe's:
HARDSTYLEE!!! Actually, the tracks used were pretty decent, some of the better hardstyle I've heard in this past year. Mixing was jarring though, and I'm certain this ain't going to interest anyone as an opening set... well, maybe all of Edoe's friends. ;)


Bedub:
Hey, this is pretty good. Nu-jazz to deep house to hip-hop, all with good, logical flow. This'd be great for an opener! Why hasn't anyone voted for this guy? Oh, wait. I forgot. This is a popularity contest, not a skill contest.


McNasty:
K', seriously. This whole 'electro house' thing is getting played out. It seems the sounds used these days are just fuzzy speed garage noises, and about as tuneless to boot. The DJ tricks in songs are kind of cool but please, please, PLEASE learn to make your transistions between tracks flow. Last song's ace!


Nabs:
Trance and euro dance trying to pass itself off as trance. Nothing new here that we haven't heard repeatedly from trance DJs since '99, with all the momentum-killing overlong breakdowns, perfunctory outro/intro beatmatched mixing, and useless vocals that you can handle. If you still haven't gotten tired of this sound, wait for one of the trance stages to play it at Apex. I'm sure there will be plenty of it going around.


Shitshow Hair Band-its:
They don't need no demo. Just tune into MuchMoreMusic's Retro Loud for a sample of what you'll hear. Personally, I think Hair Metal's utterly retarded but then so does everyone else. That's why it's so much fun to mock up!
