Avana your first mistake is making it an anonymous FORUM POLL!

just make it so that all votes must be casted in the thread by saying "vote - whoever"

that way you'll know when some guy with 1 post votes for someone it's bullshit


it might have also been a good idea to post the mixes anonymously, so that it doesnt turn into a popularity contest and defeat the purpose of us making mixes in the first place. but i guess it's too late for that

McNasty, I made it anonymous for the fact that if people didn't want to offend their friends by voting for someone else, they could. Now it is a true popularity contest.

I am all for new traffic to FNK, but selfish traffic is crap.

And you had quite a few votes on merit alone, I wouldn't stir the pot when it is leaning in your favor.....

yeah i dont really care about the popularity contest thing....if enough ppl wanna see their friend on the stage then that's cool......but it would be nice if ppl actually listened to the mixes before just voting for the name

Bottom line is we came up with a gimmick, it's fun, and people want to see it. We realize we're not DJ's but we'll still provide the most basic of services... entertainment. Not every vote we receive is because of who we are....

But the whole point i believe was that to get new DJ's up there to give them a chance. I think it should all be fair and think you guys should have had a demo and follow the initial rules for the contest.

I am not sure where I said you "needed" a demo. The only rule I had, was that if you submit a demo, please don't make it longer than 25 minutes. There is nothing unfair about them and what they are doing.

Seriously people, you complained when you thought there were trolls, and now you are complaining about the people who entered.

I don't appreciate that I had to start a new thread. If anyone knows me well, they know how I feel about thread deletion. But unfortunately, some people made it that way.

frankly, nabs, it's a bit of a stretch. i mean come on. if a bedroom dj is really any good they'd either already be playing out or they're not at all interested in playing out. fuck, if i could i'd vote for leviathan because he's a fucking wicked dj and has awesome tracks. but he's not running now, is he? any clue why?

at least with a gimmick you're at least gonna have something unique and different.

but yeah. trust some trance cracker to complain about how it's not fair. not like it's fair that your genre has been dominating the 'top dj' lists for half a decade with djs that play out 10 minute tracks only to spend 20 seconds beatmatching and the rest of the time waving their hands in the air.

if i'm gonna be forced to listen to amateur night i'd like to at least have some form of entertainment.
