DAY TWO the patch!! (otho Evra)

Much to my delight the birth control patch is now avalible here in Canada, and I am currently sporting it

there is something oddly funny about wearing a sticker to prevent baby making
but if this all works out
no more remembering to take the dumb pill every day!!

Hurray , just stick and go!!!

in the commercial they make it seem like such a niusance to take the pill EVERYDAY.

It can be a total nuissance...

it's stupid to take it everywhere with you, but I can think of times where spontenaity has occured and I haven't been able to take it on time for whatever reason- in order for it to be its most effective, you have to take it within about an hour of the same time EVERY day. Life ain't always that easy to predict :P

I want to try this marayah- what are the side effects you've experienced so far?

Well it's only day 2...nothing yet

apparently the number one reason gals quit the patch in studies was due to skin irration

but with some rubbing alchohol this is avoidable

I'll update again in the future

What do you think i wear to work??? NO one can see it ....

it's the size of a nicotine patch and it's fleshy colored
and who said birth control was sexy ?

there are other places to put it - but i prefer below the pant line..lower tummy region..the hip area if you'd like....

Finally!

It's taken them long enough since they delayed it a few times. I'm sure they had their reasons, I'm just impatient.

Last time I talked to my doctor she said it would be not long after the new year. I have to go see her in a few weeks to change my pill, so I'm digging this option. Yay!

I have enough pills to take everyday, one less is a good thing. [especially since i can't take them all at one time, they all need separate times]

I don't think I could do the patch, I'd be more likely to forget if it were weekly rather than every day...

So it doesn't fall off in the shower or anything?haha... I personally am a band-aid/nailpolish picker.. If a foreign something is clinging to my body then I subconsciously start picking at it... so I'm afraid that's gonna happen with the patch.

^ hah i do the same. i'll most likely pick at it, but i'm hoping it won't be too bad.

i've heard way too many mixed reviews of the shot. it seems to be something where it either works good or horrible. i'd go on it but i don't like the fact that i'm not in control of it, and if i no longer want to be on it i can't just stop.

i havent had any problems with it at all
most common problem is bloating and weight gain
and irregular spotting..

christine and cheryl.. yeah, i only hear mixed reviews... I suppose i'll only know my own personal experience if i ever try it myself.. but i'm with you cheryl.. the thing I like bout the pill is that I can stop whenever I like..

Don't you only get your period for times a year w/ it? I'm not to sure about this whole patch thing. Not that it matters, I don't think my doctor would let me switch anyway.

However, it would be nice to not have to take a stupid pill every day.

no with the patch you get your rag once a month still
you change your patch once a week
and how can you forget - it's stuck to a part of you.......

and you take one week off for your period
you can manipulate it of course to have that week off when it's most convient

it's the shot where you skip periods
and that freaks me out!
