my cat is dying

fuck, it's sad...


it's like normally when you're little your parents deal with everything, but this is the first time I've actually had to deal with it all on my own...and I'm sitting here trying to decide if I should go take him to get put down or have it happen naturally, which will probably be soon..

I dunno, it's really sad. To top it off I had to call my mom on her birthday all crying and panicking about what to do. :(

aww. myra. when I got to the point where I knew I had to take my cat in, I gave myself another day or two and I just spent all my time with him and cuddled and played with him and loved him. becasue in the years leadin up to that I kinda took him for granted sometimes. and even though taking him in later was so horrible I felt a little better sending him off with all that love. I'm so sorry you have to go through it sweetie :(

i hate loosing pets ..i had this one siamese cat i had since i moved to canada.. he was incredibly smart and special i doubt theres many cats like him around .. he was my friend since i was a kid .. he always came to wake me up 2 minutes before my alarm clock went off and he loved to cuddle and play and this n that .. and one day he just didnt come home .. it was just too surreal

That seriously sucks. I remember when we had to put my cat down - making the choice between killing an animal that you love and that trusts you, or letting it live in horrible pain was not one of my happiest moments.

i totally know the feeling... we had to put my dog down a few years ago and he was 16, we had him since b4 i was born and yeah he was on his last legs. Blind and deaf but he still had spirit which was the hardest part... then one day i came home and just bawled and called my mom at work and said we had to take him to the vet... so i totally know where ur coming from :(

Oh man reading what everyone has wrote and what i just did makes me teary eyed. You will know when u think u should and until then just give ur kitty the best tlc u can until u feel it is right. Sorry to hear that :(

Sorry to hear.... I had to put my dog down about a yr ago that was part of the family since I was 10 or 11 I think. My mother and I decided that it was only right that we atleast be with him when they gave him the injection, and it was prob one of the hardest things I have had to do. Unfortunately he was going rather cenile and ate some stuff he really shouldnt have, and it was for the better I guess... to end his pain. Couldnt really help but feel like I had just betrayed the trust of a really good friend though.

hey myra, i think that it REALLY SUCKS to lose a pet, i have never had a cat, but i had a dog that i loved with all my heart.. her name was lady, and that she was.. i miss her to this day, she had cancer and i let her live as long as i could, until i saw that she was suffering from it.. i put her down at 2:12am on canada day because she started going through spasms and was frothin at her mouth... don't let ur pet suffer in pain..

if it seems like ur cat is suffering then the best thing for it would be to take it in to the vet and let it go.. but if it is just weak and it looks like it is doing not to bad.. then let it go naturally and treat everysecond its around like gold.. who knows, maybe it still has a couple months to go...

after all, i heard somewhere that cats got nine lives ;)... it will always be with you, even if its not here on earth.. :066:

So last night I watched him die at home...

It was probably the saddest thing I've ever seen :( I'm just glad he's no longer in pain because he was in the last few days. It was kind of weird, but in a way I'm glad I was able to be there with him instead of just saying goodbye at the vet.

Sorry to hear that this had to happen. Me and my family went out one evening to church i believe came home and found out cat got ran over....not the funnest of times. i got 2 cats now that are reaching the old ages....don't or can't imagine when the time comes.....there to fuzzy and cute :(

yeah man i had a cat exactly like that, it would even come down stairs right at my sisters bedtime so it could cuddle with my sister while she slept...the poor thing died of old aged we watched it loose alot of wieght and then not be active and simple just spend alot of time wiht the family, not moving around too much. on the last day she had liver failure i guess, turned yellow and was in complete agony, it was hard seeing her like that i remember that day very clearly, so we went to the vet and did the right thing.

i feel for you myra, i really do.
