yeah when I first found out I did all of those said things in pretty much the same order. I still feel sick to my stomache, still haven't really eaten and I doubt I will sleep. I am worried sick about her and I can't stop thinking about what happened to her and I know that if I am feeling this shitty she must be feeling a great deal worse. I will be going out there to spend the weekend with her Saturday morning and pampering her, and when she is ready to leave the house and if she wants to I am eventually going to take her for a day at the spa, just us girls... I think she would like that when she is ready to get out and about again.

well regardless of that she is under 14 so she is under the legal consentual age for sex anyways. even if she had consented it would still have been considered statutory rape, but she DID NOT consent so it's worse. He is more than 2 years older than her so that also warrents what he did as molestation from what I have been told by a trustworthy source, and I am hoping because that would mean more trouble for this asshole. We are hoping that if he has turned 18 by the time trial comes around, they will just try him as an adult because he fucking well deserves it. If he thinks he has the right to steal a little 13 year old girl's virginity when she is pleading for him not to then he has another thing coming. I want to see his life ruined because he pretty much messed up hers. She was already dealing with way too much at her age and now she had to go through this. ^yes i know all that,however...they probabally WILL NOT try him as an adult just because the offence took place when he was still a JUVENILE.

The rape sentances in Canada are slaps on the wrists,take it from someone who was given the shaft by the canadian judicial system when the asshole who raped me was given 6 fucking months house arrest...AND THAT WAS AN ADULT CHARGE TOO.

I hate to be a killjoy or sound unempathetic...but thats the reality of things in this wonderful country we call our home.

Maybe changes have been made in regards to rape charges and what not in 7 yrs,i dont know,im just speaking from my experience...and from other girls experiences.

I know of other girls who were viciously raped,and thier attacker was let off.

I was raped when I was 17. I didn't say anything to anyone at the time. I wish I had, because a couple of years after it happened, I heard that I wasn't the only one he did it to.

I'm SO PROUD of you and her family for backing her up 110%, and most of all I'm proud of HER for being brave enough to take this path. I hope for her sake that the other 2 girls are as brave as she is, because if nothing else, they may be able to find solidarity and peace-of-mind with each other.

Its almost better if you deal with it directly as opposed to pressing charges,because if you press charges your cousin will NEVER get the justice that she deserves.

yeah :( makes me even more upset and enraged and SICK... by not giving them harsh punishments that they deserve they are practically condoning it because these guys will know they can get off with a slap on the wrist. I guess it is time for me to start thinking of alternative punishments.

my mom's a paralegal so i know a bit about how lame the justice system can be.

something similar to this happened in Penticton a few years ago and the perp literally got his arm broken by who i presume to be the girl's brother. he was a pretty mild mannered guy and he just turned vigilante. the rapist was totally shamed and he never went to the police and no one would help with the investigation even though they all knew who beat the shit out of him.

at the time the girl tried to stop anyone from doing anything violent, but later on she said she was grateful all the same. not trying to give you any ideas here, because really retaliation like that doesn't usually bode well. i dunno, just my two cents.

in any case, you gotta do something before you lose your nerve.

Too many bad things can happen, what if you kill or severely injure him ? now I know a lot of you would think this would be a good thing, but lets say you get charged and end up in jail over this or worse?

Then your own life is pretty much over also...

I'd let the courts handle this first, and hopefully justice will be served ...then after that if you are still not satisfied with the outcome, you can try taking matters into your own hands if thats what you really want.

In the meantime if your feeling revengeful..

you could maybe get his picture, full name and maybe home address. Then make flyers with the words "Child Rapist" on it and just go post them up everywhere, or mass forward them via e-mail.

That will leave a lot more then some bruises ever will.

Punishment for rapests is far too light. especialy here in Canada. i sure as hell hope they try him as an adult, with prior offences. but even so, its not enough. hes shown that he will do it again. anyway.. test results came back yesterday so they found his stuff in her, proving there was intercourse, and they were able to prove from abrasions(sp?...I believe that's what my aunt called it) that it was unconsentual sex. so basically they were able to prove that he raped her. so hopefully this means he will get a harsh punishment. I can't wait to hear that he has been re-arrested. They are still waiting for the results from her urine sample to know if he drugged her or not, but we are already convinced that she was... and I am pretty sure he drugged her with that GHB crap. I also am hoping at least one of the other 2 girls who he did this to will come forward as this will help the case.
