Anyone who falls for this is asking for it. I heard about this event about a week ago where it said "Showtek" would be there... So I sent an email out to there booking agent at q-bookings.nl . And got a reply back from there agent Daphne Joedo... who is also the same agent for DJ Luna and DJ Pavo... Indicating that Showtek is not booked for this date all all.... When I found out that Luna and Pavo was "supposively" booked yesterday I emailed Daphne again... And again... Both Pavo and Luna are NOT booked for this event. At the same time RHYTHM PUNKZ are booked for an event in Norwich , U.K....

I did check them out a while ago on facebook for fun. haha That event was to take place @ Croatian Centre, a 6-1 party, with locals, prices ACTUALLY ranged from $50 to about $80+. The event was then postponed until 2 months later the last couple days, and was gonna move to a small cheap venue in chinatown, and eventually moved to Goromish or watever u call it, to become a party that WASN'T ALL AGES anymore, but to ages 14-21 ONLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! can u believe it!??!? and a lot of kiddies couldn't get in cuz they didn't have ID to prove they were actually THAT young!! apparently highschool gangstas wanted to hunt him down after a few hundred ppl got fucked over !@#$@#$@%#$!%^^#^ BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA and now JUST a MONTH after........... Okanagan Music Festival????????? over 12000 ppl????????????????? (as advertised on FB) NO THANKS!!!!!

Shambles is around the same area and it wasn't until they'd been around for about a decade before they started capping at 10k. And they had reputation, headliners and were a three-day festival.

There arent enough people in the Okanagan, Thompson, Boundary region to support this kind of thing. Definitely not 12000. Not to mention this --> "Venue: TBA!!!"
If there really was a legal venue on private land large enough to host a show like this, wouldn't the locals be doing it already? Brett's already gotten a shoe in the ass on his way out of one of our local nightclubs - his run of DJ nights lasted two weeks before peeps got tired of his amplified stories & elitist attitude. An empty dance floor didnt help either. Ramblings about "My DJs are better than your DJs" and "Vancouver DJs are better than your DJs" and so forth. He fails to understand that the local partiers in the Okanagan support locals & credible folk. The most Ive ever seen in attendance in the last four years at an Ok Valley outdoor 2-stage festival is 450. That was a $10 party. 450 times $55 a head or even $110 is not enough cash to pay for this silliness he has posted. Just another clown promoter claiming big tings with a 'festival' and stepping on people's toes... hrm ;)

I guess it is overpriced to see global deejays, eric decks, dj luna, dj pavo and james bayliss for 65 bucks. I mean who in there right mind would pay 50$ just to see 1 or 2 headliners, let a lone 65$ for 4-5 headliners!............some people..lol

Honestly I'd think twice if it were two blocks away from my place and I was listed, let alone $50+ and in the Okanagan. Kinda sounds to me like there's some heavy banking on the just-looking-to-get-fucked-up crowd here.

I think my point is moreso that there isn't really the following to draw then numbers being asked for with the headliners given, unless you're intent on getting people who really don't care who the headliners are.
If it were Tool, NIN, New Order, I dunno, SOMEONE with draw... Heck, if you wanna go into music I don't like how about Tiesto or Deadmau5. It just seems to me that their headliners are so lacklustre for something they're intending to gather more than a couple thousand people. I don't see how they could fill this type of party with fans of this music, because I honestly don't think that many fans exist. Hence the looking for people-to-get-fucked-up crowds. Not saying you're one of them. Just think they're gonna need them. In droves.

i see what your saying...but this is "the music you dont like" lol. Tiesto and deadmua5 are trance and electro.. Pavo and Luna are really really big on the hardstyle scene. If you dont follow hardstyle i can see why you would think this. Pavo and luna were in van in april and it was a big sucess. Ppl loved it. but yeah this has to appeal to more then just the hardstyle crowd for everyone to be drawn in. It being in the okanagan is kinda bunk..but thn again what are ppl in the okanagan gonna do on a saturday night anways :P

Consider MLC's capacity though. Most people that are of the "partying" age tend to live near the cities, so they'd be more likely to go to a venue like MLC than to go all the way out to the Okanagan for a single night party.
It's the logistics of it all that bug me, not the type of music. Frankly if Audion was headlining this show I'd have similar reservations.
