Hatiras was insane. his mixing style is untouchable.

PS... Akeel -- I am loving that drum machine bro. It seems relatively straight forward in it's function as well but I don't know what the shit I am talking about and therefore are assuming it is probably very complex below the surface as far as programming...

I will chat with you more out its function this coming Thursday as I am interested in picking one up after watching you use it during your set... I really liked that "live" element it brought.

^^ I am not dissing anyone here but you could definitely tell that ALL the attention, money and production went into the main room. ALL of the other rooms were neglected and not monitored. The setup in the main room was intense and probably required everyones attention.

1.) The tone-arm on the left turn table was bent and when Faline and Gumbee were up, it was skipping like a mofo. I found Masterplan and grabbed a replacement table. Tony and I did a swap and got things up and running again.

2.) The fader on the 600 they were using was bleeding a bit so in some cases, you could hear them pre-cueing.

3.) The amp(s) did over heat and yet again, I found Masterplan and got them to shut those down and let them cool off or at least find a fan as that room was torching hot. Eventually we did get it turned back on and working.

I laughed when I was out for a few beers with Gumbee and Faline yesterday afternoon and they said to me, "fuck Kraig, you and Cinto were helping us out more than the "promoters" were!"

Anyway... just wanted to clarify what those sound problems were as it had nothing to do with Faline, Gumbee or Rap/Ak1200 but entirely to do with Masterplan the equpiment they were using in combination with the heat in that room.

yeah i think they did spend a lot of money on mainstage.. the 4th stage was crap.. and at the beginning when they dropped the curtain. 10-15 mins into that.. the music turned off.. and there were set up ppl running everywhere.. on the stage.. and the dj .. i think it was one of the shy bro's was like wtf.!.

i thought it was a good opening track. but it got cut short

ok first off this party rocked vancouver, seriously rocked. it didn't matter if you were into trance, house, dnb, breaks, fawk I even heard some jungle from area four. it had it all.. except, the usual suspects. this took away from my "personal" vibe really, although there were surprising faces you don't usually see out at the raves, I severally missed some of my favorite ravers. (they know who they are) sadly that one fact alone didn't make this the rave of the year, but defiantly one of the best in my recent history.

now, where to start..

before I even entered this party is was showing all signs of going off. slammin back beers outside with anjew surely got the night off to a warm start. ;) all of us packin in as guests of omega was all to funny.

then at first glance the empty area looked impossible to fill. I mean it was massive, and so was the mainroom setup. five lasers, like six screens, lights, smoke, the works! pictures will better serve them who didn't see, but I was extremely impressed with the main area. later in the night it would be packed tight up near the front with people, and lightly spaced out more as you got further to the back. I missed most of the deejays in this room, but I was fortunate to catch most of darudes set, without a doubt up there with some of my top trance sets. I don't need to explain how crazy his "we love drum bass" trick was.. it was something new and creative I had never before witnessed. also throughout his entire set he was tease with samples of sandstorm. then sure enough closer to the end of his set, BOOM! he dropped the beast. watching the entire front of that room just start to bounce was a sight unlike any I have ever seen at the plaza. great set darude!

area two proved to be my fave. picture a rectangle shaped room, line the walls with mirrors, then hookup two industrial laser and daaaaamn, that's a room. aside from the human sweat box effect, it was surely bumpin all night long. gumbee as odd as he looks with blonde dreads, threw down a solid set. although I only caught the first half, his third track (I believe) was intense. followed was faline who I think played the best breaks set I have ever heard. it flowed from new, to old, to florida, to uk! I mean.. some of the electric guitar tracks he dropped, the crazzzy baselines, and oldschool favorites like infiniti, mind over matter, and many I can't even recall I was too busy dancing. seriously I was glued to area two for his entire set. the big disappointment was hearing sharaz timeslot messup and his taking off. I *cried* for a brief moment until I heard the dark dnb of ak1200.. instantly I thought "shara'who?" and two stepped my way to the front of the steamer. area two was the best.

now how could I ever forget the smaller areas? surely these are were I had the most fun!! first honorable mention goes straight to hersh with his disco funk bootay shakin set.. oh and the booty was flying! two fiiiine ladies in the overalls, ya shook it like no other, miss pink im sorry but you loooost to kid cream! running into area four as van buuren die another day came on was a blessing! form and kaos laid down a rocksolid set after appearing like a rockstar only to disappear again. I had grabbed green glowsticks in efforts to crack a laugh out of form but alias the guy is a stone on deck.

soooo many memories, such a great time. I have missed a million things, plus probably forgot a million people. But my fingers are gettin soar, and my brain gettin slow. I will add more as I think it up.

Yah man, that song was fire!! If I remember correctly, it was the third song that just floored me, pure florida kill!! I had a simply amazing time at IMF!!! I really & truly did, the main stage was quite exceptional, and the lighting was Fucking extrodinary! Darude signed my bag,*drools* and I gave him a super hug, the breaks room was wicked, but WAY to sauna like, I was sooo stoked to meet more than a few FnKers!! I was even in the smoke pit at 3am, apparently just in the wrong place, darn it! I had black and pink hair in two little buns, and was wearing a black and pink shirt, I'm also REALLY super white, some people think I look like a china doll er something, ehehe.. so do any of you folks remember seeing me?? IMF was a wicked party in all aspects. The production was top notch, good vibe and some dope women. Yes the 4th stage was a little ghetto but its better then the last stage being scrapped all together and no locals playing. I don't understand how ppl can sit there and say the promoters didn't care about the locals and stuck them on that stage, Jimmy was part of the promotion team and he played on that stage.
Props to Uh-Oh and the Shy brothers for putting on a great show and bringing a little life into the vancouver scene.............Best rest up for the friday drinking session

money! what you talking about man? =) the production was top notch ONLY in the main room! everywhere else the sound, lighting, and equiptment was complete shit or at the brink of going to shit.

hell, there was some weird kind of compression effect on the mixer during all of hirshee's set, it wasnt on for jesse hills set, then it kicked in during hirshee's second track, then it turned off again when hatiras came on... problems everywhere. i had to fix the right speaker stack myself after it completely cut out during hatiras' set a number of times. again, not a techie in sight. i dont think there was more than 4 lights and no visuals in area 2,3 or 4.

if the shy bros are going to put all the locals on one stage, at least give them a proper sound system and stage set up worthy of the party you are trying to throw. show some respect to the djs who provide the tunes at the clubs and parties week after week.

(but yes, the main stage was unreal.

It's so wonderful to read peoples reviews and hear that they had an amazing time, unfortunatly that was not the case for me.

Before I begin ranting, I'd like to say "hi" to everyone I saw there, it was great meeting some new fnkers as well as seeing the ones I knew. I hope all of you had a good time, and I hope to see you again soon.
I'd also like to point out that IMF consisted of some of the best music i've gotten to hear at party. DJ Rap was absolutely amazing, her set was brilliant.

Ok where to start... for one I think the pacific coliseum is an awful awful venue, it's dirty, it smells, it's cold and it's just gross...

Although Genesis Security has a bad reputation, I encountered some of the rudest security gaurds i've ever come across on Saturday night.
The woman who searched me went as far as searching my hair and she really grabbed me.. gross :finger:
I partied completely sober the entire weekend and had partied the night before at Dilated, so I was obviously exhausted.
While attempting to take a nap in the main room I had one security violently shake me to wake me up the first time, the second time this woman wakes me up and tells me that nobody is allowed to sleep.. WTF?!?!? I explained my story, and told her that I had to work the next morning (which I did) and I made it clear that I was sober and she totally brushed off what I said and told me she didn't care.
Then as I left the party I realized I didn't have my house keys, so I flipped out and had just walked out of the venue like a minute before asking the security at the door if I could leave my purse with them, or anything to go back to the smoke pit and see if anya had my keys, he freaked out and told me to get my hand off the door... he like freaked out at me though.. I mean Jesus Christ, have some respect at least be decent about telling me i'm not allowed to go back inside.

Bad security, bad venue, and a disguisting abundance of barstars.. i'm not one to complain about their presence, but there were so many at this party
It honestly makes me question how much respect those girls have for themselves and for their bodies.

I'd just like to thank Jeremy for throwing Dilated on Friday night because that party pretty much made my weekend, and luckily i left before the fight went down.

Regarding the sleeping thing...I was chillin on the floor off on the far side of the breaks room near the end of the night, this girl was sleeping on the floor next to me, security walked by with flashlights, but didn't wake her up. I was thinking 'what the fuck' because i saw them wake up people earlier in the main room. Weird.
