not having free time (and the people who just don't get it)

since going back to school, i really haven't had much free time (this past saturday was my first full day off actually..), but i don't mind.

is it so hard to understand that i attend school full time, work part time, and therefore i don't really have any free time? when i'm not at school, working, or doing homework.. i have other things to do, like laundry, dance, etc.

i have a certain friend who just doesn't seem to get this.. maybe it's because he still lives at home, while his mommy pays for his tuition, car, does his laundry and buys him food.. maybe he's just stupid. i don't know. but it's eff'ing annoying!!#%$

that is a very good point you bring up. It's true alot of ppl don't get it b/c they aren't going through it. I've been going through the "busy" phase for the last 8 months and that is totally opening my eyes to who the real friends are. The ones that constantly harrass me and make me feel guilty have proven time and time again that they clearly do not respect my busy schedule. The ones that do, let me know that they are there whenever I have free time just to let them know.

How to word it to your friend nicely - FUCK OFF I'M BUSY! :)

Good luck!

I havn't seen you in forever.

I think if you have little time, we should have a laundry date or something. hang out while you are doing what needs to be done.

I have friends that don't understand my busy schedule and when I do have free time I can't do everything I want to do. I think you shouldn't let this stress get to you since if it's your only day off.. relax and have a day off.

It's not a question of time, but priorities.

Think about it -- There is 24 hours in a day, 7 days in a week... that never changes. We just choose the order of what we do along with when and why we do it. If this friend were a priority, you would make the time some how by not doing one of the many other things you do.

Just a thought...

It's because they have more free time and are thinking so selfishly that they can't see life from another perspective such as yours.

sounds about right to me. it's still really annoying though. especially since i've tried to explain to him, but he just doesn't seem to get it.

You make it sound like he doesn't matter at all to me. He's actually a pretty good friend of mine, which is why this bugs me.

It's not like he really needs me or anything like that.. he just wants to hang out, or have lunch, etc. but it's like ALL the time.

And I don't know about you, but school, work, and my own health and wellbeing come before "hanging out". If a friend is in need, then that's a totally different situation.

As for hanging out.. I have very little time for that.. but i manage to get some in. I haven't even seen my best friend in over 5 weeks!

So yes, he is low on my list of priorities, but I think it's fairly understandable why when you look at what comes first!

You're reading to much into what I said... I never said he doesn't matter. For all the reasons you mentioned above, he's just not at the top of your priority list and that's okay.

My post simply said that it's not a question of time in a day/week but more so priorities.
