Hire some more CSRs. Picked up a DCT for my bedroom, and I'm now on phonecall number 4.

Call one, on hold for an hour, says the DCT is on.
Call two, on hold for 45 minutes, find out the box hasn't been released (bought used, was on another account). That's fine, no problem.
Call three, on hold 50 minutes, takes a while to get things done, but the DCT is ready to go (somewhat). Regular channels show "not authorized".

I'm pretty sure they put the nex box on the all-digital map, so I actually do need it authorized, but now I'm on call four, and on hold for 20 minutes already. I can live with waiting 10-15 minutes on hold, but if all 4 calls end up going over 45 minutes on hold, yeah, I think you need some more CSRs. All the CSRs have been helpful and friendly, but the hold times are just stupid.

shitty deal, i did the same thing and had super quick response and minimal waiting. try calling later in the evening when the demand is lower.

I've never had to wait more than 10 mins to talk to someone at shaw.

Me neither, though I could see it happening. Shaw's been getting bigger, and their service has been suffering. I remember when 24-hour service was their motto. These days you're lucky to get a technician to your house within the week.

That being said, still better than Telus, where you have to threaten to cancel your service before they'll even consider throwing a technician your way.

^Don't even get me started on Telus. I have to deal with them when our connection goes down at work. It's a fucking nightmare.

Same here. We have a handy little number for "OK LOOK WE NEED YOU TO FIX IT, GET ME PAST THE FLUNKIES" for emergencies though...
